DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Hereinafter, the preferred embodiments according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiment in the attached figures, it is to be understood that various equivalent modifications and variations of the embodiments can be made by a person having an ordinary skill in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention as recited in the claims.

Furthermore, the size and shape of the element shown in the drawing may have been enlarged for the convenience and clarity of the description. The terminologies defined specifically in the present invention can be changed depending on the intention or convention of the users, and the definition of the terminology should be understood base on the overall description.

The construction vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus connected to the exhaust pipe of the diesel engine, the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus connected to the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus and the mixing pipe to interconnect the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus with the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus.

As shown in FIG. 1, the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) connected to the exhaust pipe (410) includes the diesel oxidation catalyst device (113) and the diesel particulate filter (114). The diesel oxidation catalyst device oxidizes the carbon monoxide and the hydrocarbon by the catalyst, and converts them to the carbon dioxide and water.

The diesel particulate filter consists of the porous grids, passes the air, and filters the particulate matters of air pollutants. When the air pollutants are collected, the backpressure increases with the output decreased, which are read by the differential pressure sensor and the temperature sensor, etc. The air pollutants thus collected are burnt off by the regeneration process based on the differential pressure and the driving distance, etc. and are prevented from being emitted into the air.

The first exhaust gas treatment device (100) contains the diesel oxidation catalyst device (113) and the diesel particulate filter (114) sequentially within the first housing (110) in which the input side of the same where the diesel oxidation catalyst device (113) is positioned is connected to the exhaust pipe (410) while the output side of the same where the diesel particulate filter (114) is positioned is connected to the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) through the mixing pipe (300) described below.

The second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) includes the selective catalytic reduction device (212). The second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) is employed for the reduction of nitrogen oxide in the hazardous exhaust gas, in which the urea water is injected into the exhaust gas of the high temperature at the front end of the catalyst and the ammonia is generated by the thermal decomposition and hydrolysis, which then reacts with the nitrogen oxide within the catalyst making nitrogen and water.

The second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the second housing (210) including the diesel catalytic reduction device (212), in which the input side of the same is connected to the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) through the mixing pipe (300) while the output side of the same is connected to the tail pipe.

The mixing pipe (300) interconnects the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) with the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200), in which the urea water is injected to reduce the nitrogen oxide.

The mixing pipe (300) interconnects the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) with the output side (112) of the first housing (110) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) with the input side (211) of the second housing (210), respectively, and on either side of the mixing pipe (300) is installed the urea water injection device to inject the urea water to the exhaust gas.

The first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) are disposed in the one side of the upper frame (700) with engine (400) installed. The first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) is disposed at the upper side of the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) and positioned either farther away or closer to the engine (400) than the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200).

If necessary, the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) may be disposed at the lower side of the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) and positioned either farther away or closer to the engine (400) than the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200).

The example according to the disclosure represents the configuration in which the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) is disposed at the upper side of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and positioned closer to the engine (400) than the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100). Such configuration can minimize the width in the axial direction of the engine (400) allowing better use of the space for the installation of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200).

According to the example of the disclosure, the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) are disposed with the axes in the length direction fully overlapped when viewed from the above. However, as shown in FIG. 2a, the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) can be disposed with the axes in the length direction not overlapped for the inspection and maintenance of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100), or as shown in FIG. 2b, partially overlapped.

As shown in FIG. 3, the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) are installed on the plate (500) forming the integral structure in which the plate (500) can be fixed onto the upper frame (700) with the engine (400) installed, or preferably, onto the cowl frame (600) interconnected perpendicularly to the upper frame (700) as shown in FIG. 1.

The plate (500) has the slope corresponding to the configuration of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) and, on the top surface of the plate (500) is provided the first bracket (510) and the second bracket (520) for the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) to be seated, respectively.

The bottom surface of the plate (500) is clamped in contact with the top surface of the cowl frame (600) by the clamping means, and so it is preferable to configure the bottom surface of the plate (500) corresponding to the top surface of the cowl frame (600).

The first bracket (510) and the second bracket (520) have the grooves (530) at the upper side thereof to seat the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200). Such grooves are configured corresponding to the outer circumference shapes of the first housing (110) and the second housing (210) so as to make the contact areas between the grooves (530) and the first housing (110) and the second housing (210), respectively, maximized for the stable seating.

On the opposite ends of the upper sides of the first bracket (510) and the second bracket (520) are installed the fixing members (540) which cover and fix the outer circumferences of the first housing (110) and the second housing (210).

The fixing members (540) may consist of a plurality of the same for the stable fixing of the first housing (110) and the second housing (210), and the shape of fixing member and the clamping method could be variously selected.

The installation procedure of the exhaust gas treatment apparatus will be described below.

The first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) are fixed on the first bracket (510) and the second bracket (520) of the plate (500), respectively, forming the integral structure wherein the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) is positioned at the upper side of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and has the slanted configuration towards the engine (400).

The plate (500) is interconnected with the top surface of the cowl frame (600) which is fixed perpendicularly to the one side of the upper frame (700) while the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) is connected to the exhaust pipe (410) of the engine (400).

Thus, as the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and the second exhaust gas treatment apparatus (200) are fixed on the first bracket (510) and the second bracket (520) of the plate (500) by the fixing members (540), forming the integral structure, the installation of the exhaust gas treatment apparatus can be made simple and due to the enough room along the length direction of the engine (400), the installation efficiency can be increased allowing the inspection or replacement of the diesel particulate filter (114) to be done readily without the interference with the surrounding devices.

The treatment process of the exhaust gas is as follows.

The exhaust gas is delivered to the exhaust pipe (410) and passes through the diesel oxidation catalyst device (113) of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) where the hydrocarbon and the carbon monoxide are reduced by the oxidation catalysis while the particulate matters are filtered by the diesel particulate filter (114) of the first exhaust gas treatment apparatus (100) and burnt off periodically leaving the ash to be cleaned.

The exhaust gas passing through the diesel particulate filter (114) is delivered to the mixing pipe (300) where the urea water is injected, and the nitrogen oxide is converted into the nitrogen and water in the second exhaust treatment apparatus (200) connected to the mixing pipe (300).

While the present invention has been described regarding practical embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is intended to cover various modifications. Therefore, the scope of the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments and shall be determined by not only the claims appended, but the equivalent arrangements.
