Abstract:
A sheer rod attachment comprises a telescopic rod, a first attachment, and a second attachment. The first attachment and the second attachment are attached to the telescopic rod from each end. The telescopic rod comprises a middle rod, a first rod, and a second rod. The first rod and the second are traversed within the middle rod, and the first rod and the second rod telescope out from the middle rod. A magnet is positioned within the middle rod so that the first rod and the second rod can be attached when the sheer rod attachment is not in used. A plurality of holes is positioned along the middle rod which equalizes the inside and outside air pressure when the first rod and the second rod is either extended or retracted.

Claims:
What is claimed is:

1. An apparatus for sheer rod attachment comprises, a telescopic rod; a first attachment; a second attachment; the telescopic rod comprises a middle rod, a first rod, a second rod and a magnet; the first attachment comprises a first cavity and a horizontal clip; the second attachment comprises a second cavity; the first attachment being attached to the first rod; and the second attachment being attached to the second rod.

2. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 1 comprises, the first rod and the second rod being engaged with the middle rod; the magnet being concentrically positioned within the middle rod; and the magnet being centrally connected to the middle rod.

3. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 2 comprises, the middle rod comprises a first end opening, a second end opening, a plurality of holes, a first stop ring, and a second stop ring; the first end opening and the second end opening being oppositely positioned from each other; the first rod being traversed into the middle rod through the first end opening; the second rod being oppositely traversed into the middle rod through the second end opening; the plurality of holes being adjacently positioned along the middle rod; the first stop ring being connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the first end opening; and the second stop ring being oppositely connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the second end opening.

4. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 2 comprises, the first rod comprises a first stop member; the first stop member being concentrically connected around the first rod; the second rod comprises a second stop member; and the second stop member being concentrically connected around the second rod.

5. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 1 comprises, the first cavity being concentrically positioned within the first attachment; the second cavity being concentrically positioned within the second attachment; the first cavity being engaged with the first rod with a twist locking system; and the second cavity being engaged with the second rod with the twist locking system.

6. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 2 comprises, the first attachment or the second attachment being a horizontal clip, wherein the horizontal clip comprises a first clip arm, a second clip arm, a connecting pin, and a spring; the first clip arm being positioned above the second clip arm; the spring being positioned between the first clip arm and the second clip arm; the connecting pin being traversed through the first clip arm, the second clip arm, and the spring; the first clip arm being a C-shaped arm; and the second clip arm being a C-shaped arm.

7. An apparatus for sheer rod attachment comprises, a telescopic rod; a first attachment; a second attachment; the telescopic rod comprises a middle rod, a first rod, a second rod and a magnet; the first attachment comprises a first cavity; the second attachment comprises a second cavity; the first attachment being attached to the first rod; and the second attachment being attached to the second rod.

8. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 7 comprises, the first rod and the second rod being engaged with the middle rod; the magnet being concentrically positioned within the middle rod; and the magnet being centrally connected to the middle rod.

9. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 8 comprises, the middle rod comprises a first end opening, a second end opening, a plurality of holes, a first stop ring, and a second stop ring; the first end opening and the second end opening being oppositely positioned from each other; the first rod being traversed into the middle rod through the first end opening; the second rod being oppositely traversed into the middle rod through the second end opening; the plurality of holes being adjacently positioned along the middle rod; the first stop ring being connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the first end opening; and the second stop ring being oppositely connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the second end opening.

10. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 8 comprises, the first rod comprises a first stop member; the first stop member being concentrically connected around the first rod; the second rod comprises a second stop member; and the second stop member being concentrically connected around the second rod.

11. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 7 comprises, the first cavity being concentrically positioned within the first attachment; the second cavity being concentrically positioned within the second attachment; the first cavity being engaged with the first rod with a twist locking system; and the second cavity being engaged with the second rod with the twist locking system.

12. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 8 comprises, the first attachment or the second attachment being a flat clip, wherein the horizontal clip comprises a first flat arm, a second flat arm, a connecting pin, and a spring; the first flat arm being positioned above the second flat arm; the spring being positioned between the first flat arm and the second flat arm; the connecting pin being traversed through the first flat arm, the second flat arm, and the spring; the first flat arm being an I-shaped arm; and the second flat arm being an I-shaped arm.

13. An apparatus for sheer rod attachment comprises, a telescopic rod; a first attachment; a second attachment; the telescopic rod comprises a middle rod, a first rod, a second rod and a magnet; the first attachment comprises a first cavity; the second attachment comprises a second cavity; the first attachment being attached to the first rod; and the second attachment being attached to the second rod.

14. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 13 comprises, the first rod and the second rod being engaged with the middle rod; the magnet being concentrically positioned within the middle rod; and the magnet being centrally connected to the middle rod.

15. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 14 comprises, the middle rod comprises a first end opening, a second end opening, a plurality of holes, a first stop ring, and a second stop ring; the first end opening and the second end opening being oppositely positioned from each other; the first rod being traversed into the middle rod through the first end opening; the second rod being oppositely traversed into the middle rod through the second end opening; the plurality of holes being adjacently positioned along the middle rod; the first stop ring being connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the first end opening; and the second stop ring being oppositely connected within the middle rod and positioned adjacent with the second end opening.

16. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 14 comprises, the first rod comprises a first stop member; the first stop member being concentrically connected around the first rod; the second rod comprises a second stop member; and the second stop member being concentrically connected around the second rod.

17. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 13 comprises, the first cavity being concentrically positioned within the first attachment; the second cavity being concentrically positioned within the second attachment; the first cavity being engaged with the first rod with a twist locking system; and the second cavity being engaged with the second rod with the twist locking system.

18. The apparatus for sheer rod attachment claimed in claim 14 comprises, the first attachment or the second attachment being a vertical clip, wherein the vertical clip comprises a first vertical arm, a second vertical arm, a connecting pin, and a spring; the first vertical arm being positioned above the second vertical arm; the spring being positioned between the first vertical arm and the second vertical arm; the connecting pin being traversed through the first vertical arm, the second vertical arm, and the spring; the vertical first arm being an I-shaped arm; and the second arm being an I-shaped arm.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to an apparatus for hang sheer curtain drapes. More specifically, the present invention allows a user to hang sheer curtain drapes with existing curtain rod holder brackets.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A curtain rod is normally placed on top of curtain rod holders so that a plurality of curtains can be hung from a ceiling or wall. If a user wants to attach a sheer curtain rod to the existing curtain rod holders, he or she has to remove the existing curtain rod holders and replace them with curtain rod/sheer rod holders. This process requires additional time and extra expenses. In order to solve this problem, the present invention utilizes an apparatus for sheer rod attachment which can be attached with the existing curtain rod holders. The present invention is able to telescope so that it can be fitted with different sized windows or doors. Two attachments from each side connect the present invention to the existing curtain rod holders without any type of expensive or time consuming modifications. The two attachments can be easily separated from the present invention with a simple locking mechanism so that the users can interchange the sheer curtain.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

The present invention is an apparatus for sheer rod attachment which allows a user to hang sheer drapes with existing curtain rod holders. In reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the present invention comprises a telescopic rod 1, a first attachment 2, and a second attachment 3. The telescopic rod 1 has a cylindrical shape, and the telescopic rod 1 comprises a middle rod 11, a first rod 12, a second rod 13, and a magnet 14. The middle rod 11 has a larger inner diameter compared to the first rod's 12 outer diameter and the second rod's 13 outer diameter, and the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 have the same outer diameter. The first rod 12, the second rod 13, and the middle rod 11 have hollow inside with a uniform thickness in order to minimize the weight of the telescopic rod 1. In reference to FIG. 3, the first rod 12 is concentrically traversed into the middle rod 11 from a first end opening 114. The second rod 13 is oppositely positioned from the first rod 12 and concentrically traversed into the middle rod 11 from a second end opening 115. The magnet 14 is concentrically positioned within the middle rod 11 and centrally connected to the middle rod 11. In reference to FIG. 6, the magnet 14 is placed inside the middle rod 11 so that the inside cylindrical surface of the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 can be attached to the magnet 14, when the telescopic rod 1 is not extended. The magnet 14 keeps the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 intact with the middle rod 11 so that the telescopic rod 1 does not extend without the user's input. For example, when the present invention is stored away in a vertical position, the first rod 12 or the second rod 13 does not telescope out from the middle rod 11. When the user wants to extend the first rod 12 or the second rod 13 away from the middle rod 11, the user can simply pull out the first rod 12 or the second rod 13. The telescopic rod 1 can be made from any types of light weighted materials such as aluminum, plastic, wood, or any other similar materials. If non metallic materials are used within the telescopic rod 1, the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 have to modified with additional magnets within the inside cylindrical surface so that the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 can be attached to the magnet 14.

In reference to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, the middle rod 11 comprises a plurality of holes 111, a first stop ring 112, and a second stop ring 113. The plurality of holes 111 are positioned along the middle rod 11 with equal spacing so that air can either exit or enter. Due to the plurality of holes 111, the telescopic rod 1 can be easily expanded or retracted without any interference from the air pressure. When the telescopic rod 1 is extended, air enters into the middle rod 11 equalizing inside and outside pressure. When the telescopic rod 1 is retracted, air exits from the middle rod 11 equalizing the inside and outside pressure. The first stop ring 112 is concentrically connected within the middle rod 11 and positioned adjacent to the first end opening 114. The second stop ring 113 is also concentrically connected within the middle rod 11 and positioned adjacent to the second end opening 115. The first stop ring 112 and the second stop ring 113 have a larger inner diameter compare to the outer diameter of the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 so that the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 can be extended through the first stop ring 112 and the second stop ring 113, respectively.

The first rod 12 comprises a first stop member 121 and the second rod 13 comprises a second stop member 131. The first stop member 121 is connected around the first rod 12, and the second stop member 131 is also connected around the second rod 13. The first stop member 121 and the second stop member 131 are positioned adjacent with the inside cylindrical surface of the first rod 12 and second rod 13, respectively. The outer diameter of the first stop member 121 and the second stop member 131 is larger than the first stop ring's 112 inner diameter and the second stop ring's 113 inner diameter, but smaller than the middle rod's 11 inner diameter allowing the first rod 12 to move inside the middle rod 11. For example, when the first rod 12 is fully extended within the middle rod 11, the first stop ring 112 and the first stop member 121 are placed against each other. This prevents the separation of the middle rod 11 from the first rod 12. Similar to above example, when the second rod 13 is fully extended within the middle rod 11, the second stop ring 113 and the second stop member 131 are placed against each other. This prevents the separation of the middle rod 11 from the second rod 13.

In reference to FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, the first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 comprises a first cavity 21 and a second cavity 31. The first cavity 21 is concentrically positioned within the first attachment 2, and the second cavity 31 is concentrically positioned within the second attachment 3. The first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 are respectively attached to the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 with a locking mechanism. In the preferred embodiment, a twist locking system 7 is implemented. The locking mechanism is not only limited to the twist locking system 7 and it can be any type of locking system such as a screw locking system, a push button locking system with a spring loaded transfer ball, a screw-in locking system, or a snap-on locking system.

Since there are different types of curtain rod holders, the first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 comprises a first embodiment, a second embodiment, and a third embodiment. All three embodiments provide the same functionality and similar component's configuration, but the shapes of the components are different so that the present invention can be used with different type curtain rod holders.

In reference to FIG. 9, FIG. 10, and FIG. 11, the first embodiment is a horizontal clip 4. The horizontal clip 4 comprises a first clip arm 41, a second clip arm 42, a connecting pin 43, and a spring 44. The first clip arm 41 and the second clip arm 42 are interconnected to each other with the connecting pin 43 and, the spring 44 is positioned in between the first clip arm 41 and the second clip arm 42. A spring force within the spring 44 forces, the first clip arm 41 and the second clip arm 42 to be closed from one end and opened from other end. When the first clip arm 41 is pushed toward the second clip arm 42 from the opened end, the closed end of the horizontal clip 4 is opened so that the horizontal clip 4 can be attached with the existing curtain rod holders. The first clip arm 41 and the second clip arm 42 comprise a C-shaped design so that the present invention can be attached with cylindrical-shaped curtain rod holders. The first clip arm 41 and the second clip are connected with a rubber section so that the first clip arm 41 and the second clip arm 42 provide additional friction to the first embodiment when it is horizontally attached with the cylindrical-shaped curtain rod holders.

In reference to FIG. 12 and FIG. 13, the second embodiment is a flat clip 5. The flat clip 5 comprises a first flat arm 51, a second flat arm 52, the connecting pin 43, and the spring 44. The first flat arm 51 and the second flat arm 52 are interconnected to each other with the connecting pin 43, and the spring 44 is positioned in between the first flat arm 51 and the second flat arm 52. The spring force within the spring 44, forces the first flat arm 51 and the second flat arm 52 to be closed from one end and opened from other end. When the first flat arm 51 is pushed toward the second flat arm 52 from the opened end, the closed end of the flat clip 5 is opened so that the flat clip 5 can be attached with the existing curtain rod holders. The first flat arm 51 and the second flat arm 52 comprise an I-shaped design so that the present invention can be attached with horizontally stretched rectangular-shaped curtain rod holders. The first flat arm 51 and the second flat are connected with the rubber section so that the first flat arm 51 and the second flat arm 52 provide additional friction to the second embodiment when it is horizontally attached with the horizontally stretched rectangular-shaped curtain rod holders.

In reference to FIG. 14 and FIG. 15, the third embodiment is a vertical clip 6. The vertical clip 6 comprises a first vertical arm 61, a second vertical arm 62, the connecting pin 43, and the spring 44. The first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62 are interconnected to each other with the connecting pin 43, and the spring 44 is positioned in between the first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62. The spring force provided by the spring 44, forces the first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62 to be closed from one end and opened from other end. When the first vertical arm 61 is pushed toward the second vertical arm 62 from the opened end, the closed end of the vertical clip 6 is opened so that the vertical clip 6 can be attached with the existing curtain rod holders. The first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62 comprise the same I-shape as the second embodiment so that the present invention can be attached with vertically stretched rectangular-shaped curtain rod holders. The first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62 are connected with the rubber section so that the first vertical arm 61 and the second vertical arm 62 provide additional friction to the third embodiment when it is vertically attached with the vertically stretched rectangular-shaped curtain rod holders.

The first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 can also be modified into ninety degree twistable attachments. If the first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 are modified into the ninety degree twistable attachments, the first attachment 2 and the second attachment 3 may comprise additional components such as, a locking plate, a locking spring, a locking ball bearing, and other related components. The additional components are put in place in the ninety degree twistable attachments in order to implement a peg locking mechanism. For example, the peg locking mechanism functions as the rear foot peg locking mechanism in the motorcycles. The ninety degree twistable attachments allow the telescopic rod 1 to attaches with the existing curtain rod or the curtain rod holders.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
