Box assembly
Kind Code:
A1

Abstract:
A box assembly includes a plurality of boards connected to each other and each of the boards includes a plurality of first flips on one side thereof and second flips on another side thereof. Each first flip is cooperated with a first slit which opens downward and each second flip is cooperated with a second slit which opens upward. When connecting two boards, the first flips are inserted into the second slits and the second flips are inserted into the first slits. The first and second flips may extend at angle from the boards so as to obtain a polygonal box.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a box assembly which can be easily assembled by the users and the shape of the box can vary.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional Do-It-Yourself box assembly generally provides screws and washers to the consumers and the box assembly is composed of multiple boards which have marked points for the consumers to drill the screws to connect the boards. The screws and washers are tiny and easily to miss during transportation.

Another conventional Do-It-Yourself box assembly generally includes multiple boards and the boards have pre-set mortises and tenons, the consumers engage the tenons with the mortises to roughly make a box. Besides, each board further includes flips which have holes defined therethorugh and rivets or screws are then used to fix the boards to each other by using the flips. Although this type of box assembly is more secured, too many machining processes are required. The mortises and tenons require huge press machine to make and there still need the tiny screws and washers.

The present invention intends to provide a box assembly that is easily made and assembled without using screws or rivets.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a box assembly which comprises a plurality of boards and each of the boards includes a plurality of first flips on one side thereof and second flips on another side thereof. Each first flip is cooperated with a first slit which opens downward and each second flip is cooperated with a second slit which opens upward. The first flips are inserted into the second slits and the second flips are inserted into the first slits to connect the boards to each other.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a box assembly that is composed of multiple boards which are connected to each other by inserting flips on one board into slits on the other board. The box assembly is easily to manufactured and can be easily assembled by the consumers.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show the box assembly of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show the box assembly of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view to show the relative position of the first and second flips of the box assembly of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a perspective view to show another embodiment of the box assembly of the present invention, and

FIG. 5 shows the relative position of the first and second flips of the box assembly of the present invention in FIG. 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the box assembly of the present invention comprises a plurality of boards 1 and each of the boards 1 includes a plurality of first flips 2 on one side thereof and second flips 3 on another side thereof. Each first flip 2 is cooperated with a first slit 21 which opens downward, and each second flip 3 is cooperated with a second slit 31 which opens upward. The first and second flips 2, 3 extend perpendicularly from the boards 1 when the box assembly is a rectangular box. Each of the boards 1 further has at least one bent edge 10 so as to form a smooth edge which does not cut the consumers.

When connecting two boards 1, the first flips 2 on the first board 1 are inserted into the second slits 31 on the second board 1 and, the second flips 3 on the first board are inserted into the first slits 21 on the second board 1. The assembly processes are easy and convenient to the consumers. The bottom board can be assembled by the same way or any known method.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show another embodiment of the box assembly wherein the first and second flips 2, 3 extend from the boards 1 at an angle and the connection between the boards 1 is the same as the first embodiment mentioned above. The angle that the first and second flips 2, 3 extending from the boars 1 decides the shape of the box assembly, as shown in FIG. 5, the box assembly is a hexagonal box. The boards 1 can also be made to have patterns made by any known decorative method.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
