Kind Code:
A1

Abstract:
A fast braking device for a grinding machine installed in a grinding machine with a spindle comprises: an electromagnet element closely neighbors an inner braking disc; the electromagnet element and the inner braking disc are jointly fixed on the grinding machine. An outer braking disc is separated from the electromagnet element by a lining plate and axially slidably installed on the electromagnet element. Elastic elements are arranged in between the inner braking disc and the outer braking disc. The lining plate rotates synchronously with the spindle. When the user intends to stop the operation of the grinding machine, the electromagnet element provides magnetic force to make the inner and the outer braking discs clamp the lining plate to fast brake the spindle of the grinding machine. Then, the elastic elements separate the outer braking disc from the inner braking disc, and the spindle of the grinding machine can rotate again.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a grinding machine, particularly to a fast braking device for the spindle of a grinding machine.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Grinding machines are common tools in works. A grinding machine is generally used intermittently. Thus, a grinding machine is often started and shut off. The duration from shutting off the power of a full-operation grinding machine to completely halting the grinding machine is an appreciable interval of time, and danger is likely to occur in the interval.

Traditionally, a braking rod is pressed on the spindle of a grinding machine to rub the spindle and consume the dynamic energy of the spindle so that the rotation of the grinding machine can stop as soon as possible.

However, the user has to manually press the braking rod onto the spindle in the conventional method, and the time to completely halt the grinding machine correlates with the applied force. Therefore, the conventional method is inconvenient and unreliable.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a braking device to fast stop the operation of a grinding machine.

To achieve the abovementioned objective, the present invention proposes a fast braking device for a grinding machine, which is installed in a grinding machine with a spindle and comprises: an electromagnet element, an inner braking disc, a lining plate, an outer braking disc and a plurality of elastic elements. The electromagnet element is fixed on the grinding machine. The inner braking disc closely neighbors the electromagnet element and is fixed together with the electromagnet element. The lining plate is arranged outside the inner braking disc and rotates synchronously with the spindle. The outer braking disc is separated from the electromagnet element by the lining plate and axially slidably installed on the electromagnet element. The electromagnet element provides magnetic force to make the inner braking disc and the outer braking disc clamp the lining plate. The elastic elements are arranged in between the inner braking disc and the outer braking disc. The elastic force of the elastic elements is less than the magnetic force of the electromagnet element. The elastic elements can separate the outer braking disc from the inner braking disc lest the outer braking disc and the inner braking disc clamp the lining plate during the operation of the grinding machine.

Whether the outer braking disc and the inner braking disc clamp the lining plate is determined by the elastic force of the elastic elements and the magnetic force of the electromagnet element. When the user intends to stop the operation of the grinding machine, the electromagnet element provides magnetic force to make the inner braking disc and the outer braking disc clamp the lining plate to fast brake the grinding machine.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Below, the preferred embodiments are described in detail in cooperation with drawings to make easily understood the objectives, characteristics, and accomplishments of the present invention.

Refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. The fast braking device of the present invention is installed in a grinding machine 10 having a spindle 11 and comprises: an electromagnet element 20, an inner braking disc 30, a lining plate 40, an outer braking disc 50 and a plurality of elastic elements 60. The electromagnet element 20 is fixed on the grinding machine 10. The inner braking disc 30 closely neighbors the electromagnet element 20 and is fixed on the electromagnet element 20. The inner braking disc 30 may be fastened to the electromagnet element 20 with hollow screws 32. The electromagnet element 20 and inner braking disc 30 respectively have central through-holes 21 and 31, and the spindle 11 passes through the central through-holes 21 and 31.

The lining plate 40 is arranged outside the inner braking disc 30 and rotates synchronously with the spindle 11. The lining plate 40 has a rectangular central infix hole 41, and the spindle 11 has a rectangular infix block 12 corresponding to the rectangular central infix hole 41. The infix block 12 is infixed into the central infix hole 41, and the lining plate 40 is thus driven to rotate synchronously with the spindle 11.

The outer braking disc 50 is separated from the electromagnet element 20 by the lining plate 40 and axially slidably installed on the electromagnet element 20. The outer braking disc 50 is fastened to the electromagnet element 20 via inserting screws 52 through the hollow screws 32 and screwing the screws 52 into the electromagnet element 20. The outer braking disc 50 has a central through-hole 51, and the spindle 11 passes through the central through-hole 51. The outer braking disc 50 can be attracted by the electromagnet element 20, and the outer and inner braking disc 50 and 30 can thus clamp two sides of the lining plate 40. The elastic elements 60 are arranged in between the inner braking disc 30 and the outer braking disc 50, and the elastic elements 60 are uniformly arranged along the rims of the inner braking disc 30 and the outer braking disc 50. Further, the elastic force of the elastic elements 60 is less than the magnetic force of the electromagnet element 20. The elastic elements 60 can separate the outer braking disc 50 from the inner braking disc 30 when the electromagnet element 20 does not provide magnetic force.

Refer to FIG. 3A. When the grinding machine 10 is in use, the present invention is not required to brake the grinding machine 10, and the electromagnet element 20 does not provide magnetic force. Thus, the inner braking disc 30 and the outer braking disc 50 will not clamp the lining plate 40 but are separated by the elastic elements 60. Then, the spindle can free rotate without interference.

Refer to FIG. 3B. When the user intends to stop the operation of the grinding machine 10, the electromagnet element 20 provides magnetic force. Thus, the outer braking disc 50 is attracted toward the inner braking disc 30. Then, the inner braking disc 30 and the outer braking disc 50 clamp the lining plate 40 to fast brake the spindle 11 of the grinding machine 10.

In the present invention, the electromagnet element 20 provides magnetic force to make the outer braking disc 50 and the inner braking disc 30 clamp the lining plate 40 and fast brake the spindle 11. Therefore, the present invention can fast brake the grinding machine 10 and satisfy the requirement of users.
