Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a shirt collar size adjusting frame that enables the distance between the opposite ends of a shirt collar to arbitrarily adjust, thereby making a wearer feel comfortable.

2. Background of the Related Art

Shirts having collars, e.g., dress shirts, are clothes which are adapted to be combined with a necktie when needing a dress suit at official dress affairs such as parties, ceremonies or the like, but most wearers feel uncomfortable because of the tight fit of the shirt collar.

FIG. 1 shows a wearing state of a generally shirt wherein a collar button is not inserted through a button hole. The shirt collars are generally selected to conform to a wearer's neck size. The reason for this is that when the shirt collars are combined with a necktie, the wearer can be well-formed. However, if the wearer selects the shirt collar of a slightly large size, he feels comfortable because the tight fit to his neck is slightly released. On the other hand, the size of shoulders or chest of the shirt is increased, thereby causing the him to be ill-shaped.

To solve these problems as mentioned above, many wearers wear their neckties in the state where the collar button of the shirt is not inserted through a button hole. In this case, it does not matter for a short time after tying, but after a given period of time has elapsed, the neckties become loose and even untied, thereby undesirably causing the wearer to look so bad. Thus, they feel uncomfortable and cumbersome.

Moreover, when the collar button is not inserted through the button hole, without wearing the necktie, the opposite ends of the shirt collar are too opened to each other, thereby undesirably causing the wearer to be unseemly.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a shirt collar size adjusting frame that can prevent the distance between the opposite ends of a collar from being increased even in the state where a collar button is not inserted through a button hole, while appropriately adjusting the distance, thereby enhancing convenience of wearing.

To accomplish the above object, according to the present invention, there is provided a shirt collar size adjusting frame including: a fastening button provided at one side thereof so as to be inserted through a button hole formed on a shirt collar; and a slit formed at the other side thereof so as to allow a collar button formed on the shirt collar to be inserted therethrough, whereby the shirt collar size adjusting frame is connected between the opposite ends of the shirt collar.

According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, preferably, the slit may be formed of an elongated hole having a predetermined length in a horizontal direction, the slit having a plurality of vertically cut portions formed at given intervals in such a manner as to be extended downwardly therefrom such that the fastening positions of the collar button are varied.

According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, preferably, the slit may be formed of an elongated hole having a predetermined length in a horizontal direction, the slit having a plurality of guide grooves formed at given intervals therealong such that the fastening positions of the collar button are varied.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Referring first to FIG. 2 showing a shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 according to a first embodiment of the present invention, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 that is made by folding a piece of fabric has a fastening button 11 provided at one side thereof and a slit 12 formed at the other side thereof, the slit 12 being formed of a horizontally elongated hole.

Under the above structure, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention is adapted to connect the opposite ends of the collar when the shirt is worn, thereby preventing the opposite ends of the collar from being opened, even when a collar button 22 is not inserted through a button hole 21 formed on the collar.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, that is, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention is used wherein the collar button 22 is inserted through the slit 12 and the fastening button 11 is inserted through the button hole 21, thereby permitting the opposite ends of the collar to be connected to each other.

Therefore, while the collar button 22 is not being inserted through the button hole 22, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention serves to maintain a predetermined distance between the opposite ends of the collar, thereby allowing the tight fit around the wearer's neck to be slightly released. Even though the wearer does not wear a necktie separately, further, he looks good and neat.

On the other hand, FIGS. 5a and 5b are views showing a shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 according to a second embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 is formed of a hard material like acryl or transparent plastic and the slit 12 is formed of an elongated hole having a predetermined length in a horizontal direction, the slit having a plurality of vertically cut portions 12a formed at given intervals in such a manner as to be extended downwardly therefrom such that the fastening positions of the collar button 22 are varied, if necessary.

That is, in the state where the collar button 22 formed on the shirt collar is inserted through the slit 12 formed on the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 and the fastening button 11 is inserted through the button hole 21 formed on the shirt collar, if the collar button 22 is placed at an appropriate position on the slit 12, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 is raised upwardly, such that the collar button 22 is securely placed at any one of the plurality of vertically cut portions 12a extended downwardly from the slit 12, as shown in FIG. 5b.

It can be therefore appreciated that the distance between the opposite ends of the collar is maintained to a desired size by means of the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 of this invention.

Further, FIGS. 6a and 6b are views showing a shirt collar size adjusting frame according to a third embodiment of the present invention, wherein the slit 12 is formed of an elongated hole having a predetermined length in a horizontal direction, the slit having a plurality of circular guide grooves 12b formed at given intervals therealong such that the fastening positions of the collar button 22 are varied.

So as to increase the frictional force of the slit 12 against the collar button 22 to provide a force of maintaining its fixed position thereto, the slit 12 desirably has a friction layer 13 formed therearound, the friction layer 13 being formed of a thin urethane or rubber film.

Under the structure of the shirt collar size adjusting frame according to the third embodiment of the present invention, in the state where the collar button 22 formed on the shirt collar is inserted through the slit 12 formed on the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 and the fastening button 11 is inserted through the button hole 21 formed on the shirt collar, if the collar button 22 is placed at an appropriate position on the slit 12, the collar button 22 is supported at the fixed position thereof, and moreover, as the rear surface of the collar button 22 abuts against the friction layer 13, the collar button 22 is not deviated from its fixed position.

Therefore, the shirt collar size adjusting frame 10 of this invention can appropriately adjust the distance between the opposite ends of the collar, thereby making the wearer feel more comfortable.

While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is obvious to those skilled in the art that the shirt collar size adjusting frame of this invention is varied and modified.

For example, the friction layer 13 is adopted in the third embodiment of the present invention, but it may be formed around the slit 12 adopted in the first and second embodiment of the present invention.

As set forth in the foregoing, there is provided a shirt collar size adjusting frame according to the preferred embodiments of the present invention that can prevent the distance between the opposite ends of a collar from being increased even in the state where a collar button is not inserted through a button hole, while appropriately adjusting the distance, thereby enhancing convenience of wearing and improving the wearer's outer appearance.

Especially, the slit formed on the shirt collar size adjusting frame is formed of an elongated hole, such that the collar button formed on the shirt collar is appropriately varied at its fastening position, thereby permitting the distance between the opposite ends of the collar to be desirably adjusted to a predetermined range of size.

While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
