Abstract:
A safety box includes a rectangular main frame, a front frame, a rear frame and four side bars connected between the front and rear frames. The front frame includes four hollow front bars and each front bar includes a first slot, the rear frame includes four hollow rear bars and each rear bar includes a second slot so that side panels can be inserted into the first and second slots. A front panel is connected to the front frame and a rear panel is connected to the rear frame. A pivotal column is pivotably connected to the front frame. Eight corners are connected to corners of the front frame and the rear frame so as to hide the bolts.

Claims:
What is claimed is:

1. A safety box, comprising: a main frame being a rectangular frame and including a front frame, a rear frame and four side bars connected between the front and rear frames, the front frame including four hollow front bars and each front bar having a first slot, holes defined through a wall of the front bars and communicating with the first slot, each front bar having connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof, the front bars connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular front frame; the rear frame including four hollow rear bars and each rear bar having a second slot, holes defined through a wall of the rear bars and communicating with the second slot, each rear bar having connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof, the rear bars connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular rear frame; the side bars each being an L-shaped bar and connected between corners of the front frame and corners of the rear frame; four side panels each having holes defined therethrough, two ends of each of the side panels respectively inserted into the first and second slots of the front and rear bars, bolts extending thorugh the holes in the side panels to connect the side panels to the front and rear frames, two sides of each side panel connected to the side bars; a rear panel having a plurality of holes and bolts extending through the holes and connecting the rear panel to the rear bars of the rear frame; and a front panel connected with a pivotal column which is pivotably connected to the front frame.

2. The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein one of the four front bars is an L-shaped front bar, the pivotal column is engaged with a recessed space between two sides of the L-shaped front bar.

The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of L-shaped corner members each have a positioning stub and a hook extending therefrom, the front bars of the front frame each have positioning holes which are located in alignment with the positioning stubs of the corner members, the positioning stubs are engaged with the positioning holes and the hooks are hooked to a side of one of the front bars so that each corner member is connected to each of the corners of the front frame and covers the bolts and the positioning holes of the front bars.

The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of L-shaped corner members each have a positioning stub and a hook extending therefrom, the rear bars of the rear frame each have positioning holes which are located in alignment with the positioning stubs of the corner members, the positioning stubs are engaged with the positioning holes and the hooks are hooked to a side of one of the rear bars so that each corner member is connected to each of the corners of the rear frame and covers the bolts and the positioning holes of the rear bars.

The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one reinforcement member is inserted in the front bar of the front frame and includes a plurality of holes which are located in alignment with the connection holes defined in the side of each of the two ends of each front bar, bolts connect the at least one reinforcement member to a connection portion of the front bars.

6. The safety box as claimed in claim 5, wherein the at least one reinforcement member is engaged with one of the rear bars of the rear frame and is located at a connection portion of the rear bars.

7. The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein the front panel includes holes defined therein and the pivotal column includes a plurality of holes, bolts extend through the holes of the front panel and the holes of the pivotal column to connect the front panel to the pivotal column, a biasing member is connected to the pivotal column so as to push the front panel outward.

8. The safety box as claimed in claim 7, wherein the biasing member is a metal resilient piece.

9. The safety box as claimed in claim 1, wherein a washer is mounted to the pivotal column.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a safety box which is easily assembled by less parts while the structural strength is maintained.

2. The Prior Arts

A conventional safety box is generally made by steel boards, which are expensive and heavy. The conventional safety box is not convenient for transportation. The steel board made safety box is not convenient for recycled and reused. Bolts are exposed on outside of the safety box and can be easily damaged or loosened.

The present invention provides a safety box which improves the shortcomings of the conventional safety boxes and the safety box of the present invention is assembled by less parts which occupy limited spaces. All the bolts are hidden by corners members.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

According to the present invention, a safety box is provided and comprises a rectangular main frame which includes a front frame, a rear frame and four side bars connected between the front and rear frames. The front frame includes a front panel and the rear frame includes a rear panel. Four side panels are connected between the side bars and the front and rear frames.

The front frame includes four hollow front bars and each front bar has a first slot. Holes are defined through a wall of the front bars and communicate with the first slot. Each front bar includes connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof. The front bars are connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular front frame.

The rear frame includes four hollow rear bars and each rear bar has a second slot. Holes are defined through a wall of the rear bars and communicate with the second slot. Each rear bar has connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof. The rear bars are connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular rear frame.

The side bars each are an L-shaped bar and connected between corners of the front frame and corners of the rear frame. Four side panels each have holes defined therethrough. Two ends of each of the side panels are inserted into the first and second slots of the front and rear bars. Bolts extend through the holes in the side panels to connect the side panels to the front and rear frames. Two sides of each side panel are connected to the side bars. A rear panel has a plurality of holes and bolts extend through the holes and connect the rear panel to the rear bars of the rear frame. A front panel is connected with a pivotal column which is pivotably connected to the front frame.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIGS. 1, 2, 3A, 3B and 3C, a safety box in accordance with the present invention comprises a rectangular main frame 10 which includes a front frame 11, a rear frame 12 and four side bars 13 connected between the front and rear frames 11, 12. A front panel 22 and a rear panel 21 are respectively connected to the front and rear frames 11, 12.

The front frame 11 includes four hollow front bars 111 and each front bar 111 includes a first slot 1110. Holes are defined through a wall of the front bars 111 and communicate with the first slot 1110. Each of two ends of the each front bar 111 is cut to be a 45 degree inclined surface such that two front bars 111 can be connected to each other to form a rectangular angle by connecting the two respective inclined surfaces. Each front bar 111 has connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof and the front bars 111 are connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular front frame 11. One of the four front bars 111 is an L-shaped front bar 111′, in the embodiment, the L-shaped front bar 111′ is located at the right side of the front frame 11. A pivotal column 23 is engaged with a recessed space between two sides of the L-shaped front bar 111′.

Two reinforcement members 112 are inserted in the front bars 111 on a top and a bottom of the front frame 11 and each reinforcement member 112 includes a plurality of holes which are located in alignment with the connection holes defined in the side of each of the two ends of each front bar 111. Bolts connect the reinforcement members 112 to a connection portion of the front bars 111. The reinforcement members 112 reinforce the structural strength of the corners of the safety box. The rear frame 12 includes four hollow rear bars 121 and each rear bar 121 has a second slot 1210. Holes are defined through a wall of the rear bars 121 and communicate with the second slot 1210. Each rear bar 121 has connection holes defined in a side of each of two ends thereof. The rear bars 121 are connected to each other by bolts extending through the connection holes to form the rectangular rear frame 12. Additionally, at least one reinforcement member, which structure is the same as the reinforcement members 112, is engaged with the rear bar 121 located at a connection portion of the rear bars 121.

Further referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, four L-shaped corner members 14 each have a positioning stub 141 and a hook 142 extending therefrom. The front bars 111 of the front frame 11 each have positioning holes 1111 which are located in alignment with the positioning stubs 141 of the corner members 14. The positioning stubs 141 are engaged with the positioning holes 1111 and the hooks 142 are hooked to a side of one of the front bars 111 so that each corner member 14 is connected to each of the corners of the front frame 11 and covers the bolts and the positioning holes 1111 of the front bars 111. Similarly, four L-shaped corner members 14 each have a positioning stub 141 and a hook 142 extending therefrom. The rear bars 121 of the rear frame 12 each have positioning holes 1211 which are located in alignment with the positioning stubs 141 of the corner members 14. The positioning stubs 141 are engaged with the positioning holes 1211 and the hooks 142 are hooked to a side of one of the rear bars 121 so that each corner member 14 is connected to each of the corners of the rear frame 12 and covers the bolts and the positioning holes 1211 of the rear bars 121. The bolts are hidden by the corner members 14 such that the bolts are not easily accessible by thefts.

The side bars 13 each are an L-shaped bar and connected between corners of the front frame 11 and corners of the rear frame 12. Four side panels 20 each have holes 201 defined therethrough, and two ends of each of the side panels 20 are inserted into the first and second slots 1110, 1210 of the front and rear bars 111, 121 as shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B. Bolts extend through the holes 201 in the side panels 20 to connect the side panels 20 to the front and rear frames 11, 21. Two sides of each side panel 20 are connected to the side bars 13.

The rear panel 21 has a plurality of holes 211 and bolts extend through the holes 211 and connect the rear panel 21 to the rear bars 121 of the rear frame 12. The front panel 22 is connected with the pivotal column 23 which is pivotably connected to the front frame 11. The front panel 22 includes holes 221 defined therein and the pivotal column 23 includes a plurality of holes 231. Bolts extend through the holes 221 and 231 to connect the front panel 22 to the pivotal column 23. A biasing member 232 made by metal resilient material is connected to the pivotal column 23 so as to push the front panel 22 outward. A washer 233 is mounted to the pivotal column 23 to reduce the friction between the pivotal column 23 and the front frame 11.

Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiment thereof, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that a variety of modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention which is intended to be defined by the appended claims.
