Abstract:
A Wire-drawing apparatus with one or more drawing-disk drums with an associated drawing-disk drum drive motor. The wire-drawing apparatus has a machine frame that is horizontally divided and comprises a drawing disk upper part with access auxiliary devices, such as a suction extraction device and a drawing die mount, and a lower frame. The wire-drawing apparatus also comprises a covering hood associated with each drawing-disk drum. The wire-drawing apparatus further comprises a centrifugal rim at the bottom of the drawing disk drum that runs at an acute angle in relation to the drawing disk drum axis.

Claims:
1. Wire-drawing apparatus with one or more drawing-disk drums and in each case an associated drawing-disk drum drive motor, the wire-drawing apparatus having a machine frame, characterized in that the machine frame is made up in a horizontally divided manner of a drawing disk upper part with access auxiliary devices, comprising a suction extraction device and a drawing die mount, and also a lower frame, on which the drawing disk upper part is mounted.

2. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that a flanged-on drive motor for the drawing disk drum is integrated in the drawing disk upper part.

3. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the drawing disk upper part has a covering hood.

4. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the drawing disk upper part has an operating console.

5. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that an interconnecting unit that is connected directly to the wire drawing apparatus is disposed on the rear side of the wire-drawing apparatus.

6. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 5, characterized in that the interconnecting unit is secured directly to the drawing disk upper part.

7. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 6, characterized in that the interconnecting unit is secured to the drawing disk upper part by means of carriers which leave an access space.

8. Wire-drawing apparatus with one or more drawing-disk drums and in each case an associated drawing-disk drum drive motor, the wire-drawing apparatus having at least one covering hood, characterized in that the wire-drawing apparatus has at least two drawing disk drums and in that a covering hood is associated with each drawing disk drum.

9. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 8, characterized in that a free space is left between two covering hoods and in that an operating console that is accessible when the covering hood is closed is disposed in the free space.

10. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 9, characterized in that a lubricant box that is accessible when the covering hood is closed is disposed in the free space.

11. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 8, characterized in that a separate dust extractor is associated with at least two covering hoods.

12. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 8, characterized in that the drawing die holder is disposed in a closure region of the hood.

13. Wire-drawing apparatus with one or more drawing-disk drums and in each case an associated drawing-disk drum drive motor, characterized in that an extraction channel disposed on an access side is associated with the drawing disk drum, the extraction channel surrounds the drawing disk drum around at least a third of the drawing disk drum circumference.

14. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 13, characterized in that the extraction channel surrounds the drawing disk drum around at least half its circumference.

15. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 13, characterized in that, the drawing disk drum has a centrifugal rim at the bottom, which runs at an acute angle in relation to of the drawing disk drum axis.

16. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 13, characterized in that the extraction channel has an outer, angled wall and in that an extraction opening is formed in an angle connection.

17. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 16, characterized in that the angled wall has an obtuse angle.

18. Wire-drawing apparatus according to claim 15, characterized in that the centrifugal rim radial projection corresponds to a fifth or more of the drawing disk drum radius.

Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates in first instance to a wire-drawing apparatus with one or more drawing-disk drums and in each case an associated drawing-disk drum drive motor, the wire-drawing apparatus having a machine frame.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Wire-drawing apparatuses of the type in question are known, such as for example from the applicants German patent application with the file reference DE 102004027716, not published before the priority date, and from DE 10215456 AI. The content of these patent applications is hereby incorporated in full in the disclosure of the present invention, including for the purpose of incorporating features of these patent applications in claims of the present invention.

In view of the known prior art, a technical problem for the invention is seen in first instance as that of improving a wire-drawing apparatus of the type in question with regard to simplified production and simplified assembly in situ.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This problem is solved first and foremost by the subject matter of claim 1, it being provided that the machine frame is made up in a horizontally divided manner of a drawing disk upper part with access auxiliary devices, such as a suction extraction device and a drawing die mount, and also a lower frame, on which the drawing disk upper part is mounted. As a result of this configuration according to the invention, the drawing disk upper part can be prefabricated with the access auxiliary devices as a complete part and, for the final assembly of the wiredrawing apparatus, can be finally mounted on a lower frame and secured to it. The lower frame, provided under the horizontal division, preferably does not carry any parts that are relevant for the operation of the wire-drawing apparatus. By virtue of the configuration according to the invention, the drawing disk upper part is to be prefabricated in a modular manner and preferably associated with the lower frame in situ.

The subject matters of the further claims are explained below with reference to the subject matter of claim 1, but may also be of importance in their independent formulation. It proves to be advantageous here that a flanged-on drive motor for the drawing disk drum is integrated in the drawing disk upper part, more preferably in the form of an axially directly flanged-on synchronous motor. Such an arrangement is known in principle from the applicant's non-prior patent application, mentioned at the beginning, for which reason reference is made to it once again at this point. For the purposes of the invention, this flanged-on drive motor is part of the drawing disk upper part and consequently part of the modularly constructed upper part of the wire-drawing apparatus, even if the drive motor may well extend downward beyond the horizontal dividing plane into the lower frame once the upper part is disposed on the lower frame. The drawing disk upper part also has a covering hood, for covering over the drawing disk drum in the operating position. In an advantageous development of the subject matter of the invention, it is provided that the drawing disk upper part has an operating console, by means of which the wire-drawing apparatus is controlled and operated. A compact structural form of the wire-drawing apparatus is achieved by an interconnecting unit that is connected directly to the wire-drawing apparatus being disposed on the rear side of the same. A separate switch cabinet or the like, as known from the prior art, is not required. Here, the interconnecting unit may comprise converters and control electronics including a frequency converter for the drive. It proves to be particularly advantageous here that the interconnecting unit is secured directly to the drawing disk upper part. So, according to the invention, the drawing disk upper part has not only a suction extraction device and the drawing die mount but also at the same time at least one covering hood and an operating console and, in addition, an interconnecting unit at the rear, the drawing disk drum also being driven directly by a drive motor that is integrated in the upper part. The drawing disk upper part is in itself autonomous. The lower frame, to be provided under the horizontal division of the wire-drawing apparatus, merely undertakes carrying functions. Also proving to be beneficial for operation and maintenance is a development in which the interconnecting unit is secured to the drawing disk upper part by means of carriers which leave an access space. The interconnecting unit is accordingly preferably spaced horizontally away from the drawing disk drum region or from a rear wall covering the drawing disk drum region at the rear. The access space that is left may well be closed by removable panels. In addition, the access space may also provide an engagement space for the pivoted covering hood.

The invention also relates to a wire-drawing apparatus according to the features of the precharacterizing clause of claim 1, the wire-drawing apparatus also having at least one covering hood. In order to form a wire-drawing apparatus of the type in question in such a way that it is functionally more advantageous, it is proposed that the wire-drawing apparatus has at least two drawing disk drums and that a covering hood is associated with each drawing disk drum. The fact that a covering hood is associated with each drawing disk drum means that improved removal of the dust produced in the surrounding region of the respective drawing disk drum is achieved. The dust produced during wire drawing, or the drawing powder generated, remains locally confined in the direct region of the drawing disk drum and can consequently also be transported away in an improved manner within the space that is delimited by the covering hood.

The subject matters of the further claims are explained below with reference to the subject matter of claim 8, but may also be of importance in their independent formulation. A free space is preferably left between two covering hoods, an operating console that is accessible when the covering hood is closed being disposed in the free space. An operating console is preferably associated with each drawing disk drum, by means of which operating console settings of the associated wire-drawing apparatus station can be performed with the covering hood closed. The operating consoles are clearly associated with the respective drawing disk drums. A lubricant box that is accessible when the covering hood is closed is also disposed in the free space. Here too, it is preferred for a lubricant box to be clearly associated with each drawing disk drum or each station. Furthermore, it proves to be advantageous if a separate dust extractor is associated with each covering hood, for the extraction of the drawing powder or the like that is generated in the region covered over by the covering hood. The drawing die associated with each drawing disk drum, or its drawing die holder, is disposed in the hood closure region, so is accordingly covered over by the covering hood when the latter is closed. So, the drawing die holder continues to remain in a protected position even when the lubricant box that is freely accessible in the free space between the two closed covering hoods is inspected. With regard to an improved cooling effect of the drawing die, it may further be provided that a filling part is disposed, for example protruding in from above, in the housing accommodating the drawing die holder, in order in this way to reduce the free space around the drawing die and consequently reduce the cooling water gap in an advantageous manner.

The invention also relates to a wire-drawing apparatus according to the features of the precharacterizing clause of claim 1, it being proposed for further improved extraction of dust produced during the drawing operation or generated drawing powder that an extraction channel disposed on the access side is associated with the drawing disk drum, which channel surrounds the drawing disk drum around at least a third of its circumference. The dust that is thrown out radially from the drawing disk drum in the course of wire drawing is dependably carried away to a specific location by means of the associated extraction channel. The extraction channel is shaped here at the foot of the drawing disk drum in such a way that it partly surrounds it circumferentially, the extraction channel being provided with extraction openings pointing in the direction of the drawing drum.

The subject matters of the further claims are explained below with reference to the subject matter of claim 13, but may also be of importance in their independent formulation. So it proves to be advantageous if the extraction channel surrounds the drawing disk drum over at least half of its circumference, more preferably over approximately 250-300° with respect to the drum axis. At the bottom, the drawing disk drum has a centrifugal rim, which runs at an acute angle in relation to the vertical and by means of which a further improvement of the dust removal in the direction of the extraction channel is achieved. So, for example, the centrifugal rim forms an angle of 30 to 75°, preferably 60°, to a parallel of the drum axis, the altogether collar-shaped centrifugal rim sloping down at said acute angle in the direction of the free peripheral edge. The extraction channel also has an outer, angled wall, the extraction opening being formed in the angle connection. The outer angled wall of the extraction channel in first instance creates between this wall and the centrifugal rim of the drawing disk drum a collecting channel for dust or the like, preferably running around it, the angled portion of the suction channel wall forming an acute angle of approximately 30° with a parallel of the drum axis and extending counter to the inclination of the centrifugal rim, from a wall portion aligned transversely in relation to the drum axis. The centrifugal rim of the rotating drawing disk drum goes over into the fixed horizontal wall portion of the extraction channel while leaving a minimal annular gap. Preferably provided over the circumference of the extraction channel guide is a plurality of extraction openings in the angle connection between the horizontal portion and the angled-away portion of the wall, more preferably at equal spacing from one another. The angled wall has an obtuse angle between the horizontal portion and the angled-away portion of the channel wall. Finally, it is proposed that the radial projection of the centrifugal rim corresponds to a fifth or more of the radius of the drawing disk drum, not including the centrifugal rim—accordingly measured in the upper region without the centrifugal rim. So, the sloping-down centrifugal rim extends with considerable radial extent in comparison with the drawing disk drum.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Represented and described in first instance with reference to FIG. 1 is a wire-drawing apparatus 1 in the manner of a straight-drawing machine, which has in first instance a machine frame 2. This is horizontally divided, which division is represented in the drawings by the horizontal line H.

The machine frame 2 is made up under the horizontal division by a drawing disk upper part 3 and a lower frame 4, on which latter the drawing disk upper part 3 is mounted. By means of screw connections not represented any more specifically, the drawing disk upper part 3 is connected to the lower frame 4.

The drawing disk upper part 3 has all the components and access auxiliary devices that are necessary for the apparatus to function, while the lower frame 4 merely has carrying functions. So, the drawing disk upper part 3 is provided with two substantially identically formed drawing stations for the decreasing gauge of a wire. Correspondingly, two drawing disk drums 5 are provided, disposed one behind the other in the wire drawing direction r. Here, each drawing disk drum 5 is aligned in an inclined manner when viewed in the wire drawing direction r, for instance forming an angle of inclination of approximately 15° to the horizontal. In a manner corresponding to the inclined plane carrying the drawing disk drums 5, the lubricant boxes 6 and drawing die holders 7 that are associated with each drawing disk drum 5 are also aligned in an inclined manner.

Each drawing disk drum 5 has a drive motor 8. The latter is disposed under the inclined machine bed 9 which carries the drawing disk drum 5. The drive motor 8 is flanged on and acts directly on the associated drawing disk drum 5. The drive motor 8 sets the drawing disk drum 5 steplessly in rotation or slows it down, the rotation taking place about a geometrical axis x-x, which is aligned perpendicularly to the inclined machine bed 9.

The two drawing disk drum drive motors 8 are formed as synchronous electric motors. They are connected to the associated drawing disk drum 5 without any gear mechanism.

Each drawing disk drum 5 is surrounded by a drawing disk chamber 11, which is open toward the access side 10. This chamber is made up substantially of two side walls 12 and a rear wall 13, which latter is associated with the rear side 14 of the wire-drawing apparatus 1 that is opposite from the access side 10. Rear wall 13 and side walls 12 are disposed in a vertically aligned manner at the periphery on the machine bed 9 carrying the drawing disk drum 5.

The side walls 12 are also each provided with a recess 15 which is open at the periphery. This is open both toward the peripheral edge on the access side and toward the upwardly pointing peripheral edge.

The drawing disk chambers 11 can be closed by a cover, for which purpose a covering hood 16 is associated with each chamber 11. This hood is pivotable about an axis y running spatially parallel to the base line of the rear wall, pivotally movable near the upper peripheral region of the rear wall 13. Each covering hood 16 has a top portion 17 and an end wall portion 18, facing the access side 10. Top portion 17 and end wall portion 18 are disposed here at right angles to each other. In the closure position of each covering hood 16, the top portion 17 rests on the upwardly directed peripheral edges of the side walls 12 on the chamber side, while the end wall portion 18 butts on the inner side of the wall against the associated end faces of the side walls 12 and of the machine bed 9. In the closure position of the covering hood 16, the drawing disk chamber 11 is closed with the exception of the lateral recesses 15.

The two covering hoods 16, or the drawing disk chambers 11 to be covered by them, are spaced apart from each other; correspondingly leaving a free space 19 between them. Disposed in this free space 19 is an operating console 20, which is accessible even when the covering hoods 16 are closed. This operating console 20 serves for controlling the drawing disk disposed downstream in the wire drawing direction r, so for example on the right in the representation in FIG. 2. The drawing disk drum 5 disposed in the free space 19 upstream of this operating console 20 in the wire drawing direction r can also be controlled by means of a further operating console 20′, which according to the representation in FIG. 2 is disposed to the left of the drawing disk drum 5. The latter console is basically also disposed in a free space 19′ left between two covering hoods 16, if alongside the module represented, having two drawing disk stations, there is disposed a further, identically configured module.

As can be gathered from the representations, the covering hood 16 of the drawing disk drum 5 which is on the right, for example in FIG. 2, terminates virtually flush with the facing outer wall of the machine frame 2, while the covering hood 16 of the drawing disk drum 5 which is on the left is disposed in such a way that it is set back from the facing outer wall of the machine frame 2, to create a peripherally open free space 19′ for the operating console 20

Through the free space 19 or 19′ there also extends the lubricant box 6 of the drawing disk drum 5 arranged downstream in the wire drawing direction r, the lubricant box 6 also being freely accessible in the closure position of the covering hoods 16 for constant inspection. The guiding and sensing rollers 22 that are secured to the lubricant box 6 by means of a holder 21 and are upstream in the wire drawing direction r extend within the drawing disk chamber 11 of the drawing disk drum 5 disposed upstream in the wire drawing direction r, passing through the facing recess 15 of the chamber side walls 12.

By contrast, the drawing die holder 7, disposed downstream of the lubricant box 6 in the wire drawing direction r, is not accessible in the closure position of the covering hoods 16; it is accordingly disposed in the hood closure region.

On the rear side 14 of the wire-drawing apparatus 1, interconnecting units 23 are associated with each station, secured directly to the drawing disk upper part 3. Each unit is disposed in a switch cabinet 24, which is fixed on the drawing disk upper part 3 by means of carriers 25. The carriers 25 are given such a length here that an access space 26 is left between switch cabinet 24 and drawing disk upper part 3. Though not represented, this space may be closed on all sides by means of preferably removable walls. The access space 26 also serves as an engagement space for partial portions of the swung-open covering hood 16 (cf. FIG. 3).

The interconnecting unit 23 here comprises, inter alia, all the supply leads for the upper part 3, as well as triggering electronics including a frequency converter for the drive.

In the exemplary embodiment represented, the drawing disk upper part 3 substantially comprises two drawing disk drums 5, two lubricant boxes 6, two drawing die holders 7, two drive motors 8 acting directly on the drawing disk drums, two drawing disk chambers 11, two covering hoods 16, as well as two operating consoles 20, two interconnecting units 23 and two dust extractors, which are respectively associated with a drawing disk drum 5 and are described in more detail below. The drawing disk upper part 3 correspondingly has all the components and access auxiliary devices that are necessary for the wire-drawing apparatus 1 to function, these components or access auxiliary devices also being disposed substantially above the horizontal division of the machine frame 2. Only the drive motors 8 pass through this horizontal plane and partly enter the lower frame 4.

An extraction channel 27 is associated with each drawing disk drum 5 at the foot, in the region of the drawing disk chamber 11 surrounding the drum. This channel is formed within the inclined machine bed 9 and surrounds the drawing disk drum 5 around approximately three quarters of its circumference. With reference to the plan view in FIG. 4, one end 28 of the extraction channel 27, in the form of a segment of a ring, is formed near the drawing die holder 7, from where the extraction channel 27 extends further in the clockwise direction with respect to the plan view in FIG. 4 through about 270°, surrounding the drawing disk drum 5 at the foot. The other end of the extraction channel 27 is provided with the reference numeral 29. The blower unit generating a negative pressure in the extraction channel 27 is not represented any more specifically, but is also preferably a component part of the drawing disk upper part 3.

The extraction channel 27 has in a cross section according to the representation in FIG. 5 an angled wall 30 pointing radially inward, i.e. in the direction of the drawing disk drum 5. This wall is made up of a base portion 31, aligned transversely in relation to the drum axis x, and a side wall 32, forming an obtuse angle of approximately 120° with said base portion.

The extraction channel 27 is open toward the collecting channel 33, which surrounds the drawing disk drum 5 for the most part at the foot in the form of an annular groove, for which purpose extraction openings 34 are provided in the angle connection between base portion 31 and side wall 32. A plurality of such extraction openings 34 is provided equally spaced apart over the entire circumference of the extraction channel 27 (cf. FIG. 6).

The drawing disk drum 5 forms at the foot a centrifugal rim 35, delimiting the collecting space 33 radially inward. This centrifugal rim is formed in the region of a thickened base rim of the drum wall 36, a collar-like centrifugal ring 38 being associated with this thickened base portion 37 radially on the outside, and substantially forming the centrifugal rim 35. This centrifugal ring 38 is fixed on the base portion 37 of the drawing disk drum 5 by means of screws.

The centrifugal rim 35 runs at an acute angle of approximately 60° to a parallel of the drum axis x, extending from the drum wall 36 sloping down radially outward, to a free end which is aligned level with the base portion 31 of the angled suction channel wall 30. Between this free end and the suction channel wall there remains a small annular gap 39, permitting the free rotation of the drawing disk drum 5.

In the exemplary embodiment represented, the radial projection a of the centrifugal rim 35, extending from the drum wall 36, corresponds approximately to one quarter of the radius b of the drawing disk drum 5 in the region of the drum wall 36.

By the arrangement of the centrifugal rim 35 described above, the dust produced during wire drawing, or the drawing powder generated, is centrifugally thrown specifically in the direction of the extraction openings 34, via which it is then transported away with the assistance of a suction flow.

All disclosed features are (in themselves) pertinent to the invention. The disclosure content of the associated/accompanying priority documents (copy of the prior application) is also hereby incorporated in full in the disclosure of the application, including for the purpose of incorporating features of these documents in claims of the present application.
