DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 4, a hanging cabinet in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a cabinet body 1 made out of a tough and flexible sheet material (for example, canvass). The cabinet body 1 has two vertical side panels 11, a vertical back panel 18 connected between the two vertical side panels 11 at a rear side, and a plurality of horizontal partition panels 13 respectively connected between the two vertical side panels 11 at different elevations and defining with the vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 12 a plurality of vertically spaced storage chambers 10 for keeping things. The horizontal partition panels 13 are tilted such that each storage chamber 10 slopes downwardly backwards toward the vertical back panel 18. The horizontal partition panels 13 may be directly stitched to the two vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 12. Alternatively, hook and loop materials, snap means, or other fastening devices may be used to secure the horizontal partition panels 13 to the two vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 18. Further, the partition panels 13 have a length greater than the depth of the storage chamber 10 such that each partition panel 13 has a downwardly extending suspending portion 131 (see FIG. 8).

A vertical partition panel 12 may be set between the two vertical side panels 11, as shown in FIG. 3, to divide each storage chamber 10 into two storage spaces.

Further, a hanging plate 15 is fixedly fastened to the top side of the vertical back panel 18. The hanging plate 15 has a top notch 151 formed on a horizontally extending top sleeve thereof at a suitable location, for example, on the middle. A rod member 16 is inserted into the horizontally extending top sleeve of the hanging plate 15. The hanging plate 15 further has a plurality of hanging holes 152 for the mounting of Z-hooks 4 to hang the hanging cabinet on a door panel or the like as shown in FIG. 5.

Further, side bags 14 are respectively provided on the outside of the vertical side panels 11 for keeping clothes or other small items. These side bags 14 are prepared from a flexible sheet material (canvass, meshed cloth) and stitched with seam lines, thereby forming a plurality of pockets 141 at different elevations for keeping things. Hook and loop materials or snap fasteners may be used to secure the side bags 14 to the vertical side panels 11.

Referring to FIGS. 2, 9A and 9B, a top hook 2 and a holder frame 23 are secured to the rod members 16 at the top hanging plates 15 of two cabinet bodies 1 for hanging the two cabinet bodies 1 on a rod member 3. The top hook 2 is pivotally coupled to the holder frame 23 that is fastened to the rod member 16 at the top side of the hanging plate 15. Bending a metal plate member into a predetermined shape, having a through hole 231, makes the holder frame 23. Before bending the metal plate member into shape to form the holder frame 23, the hook 2 is inserted through the through hole 231 with the expanded endpiece 21 thereof stopped at one side of the metal plate member. Further, a washer 22 is mounted on the hook 2 and stopped between the expanded endpiece 21. After insertion of the hook 2 through the through hole 231, the metal plate member is bent into two eyelets 232 around the rods 16 at the top side of the hanging plates 15. When installed, the top hook 2 can be rotated through 360-degrees relative to the hanging plates 15.

Referring to FIG. 2, the rod members 16 are respectively removed from the horizontally extending top sleeves of the hanging plates 15 of two cabinet bodies 1, and then the holder frame 23 is inserted into the top notches 151 of the hanging plates 15, and then the rod members 16 are respectively inserted into the horizontally extending top sleeves of the hanging plates 15 and the eyelets 232 of the holder frame 23, thereby causing the holder frame 23 and the top hook 2 to the two cabinet bodies 1.

FIG. 6 shows another alternate form of the present invention. According to this embodiment, two cabinet bodies 1 are attached together side-to-side-; each cabinet body 1 has an oblique roof panel 1, which defines with the top side of the respective cabinet body 1 a triangular storage space; each side bag 14 is stitched with a vertical seam line 142 on the middle.

FIG. 7 shows still another alternate form of the present invention. This embodiment is substantially similar to the embodiment shown in FIG. 6 with the exception the side bags 14 of this embodiment each have a top open side 141.
