1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a membrane reel fixing device for a membrane strapping dispenser, particularly to one able to firmly fix a membrane reel in position and applicable to different-sized membrane reels.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Generally, a membrane reel has a membrane wound thereon to be released and strapped on articles so as to prevent them from swaying and falling when they are stored or transported. Nowadays, a membrane strapping dispenser is widely employed for the convenience of carrying out membrane releasing and strapping work. A conventional membrane strapping dispenser 10, as shown in FIG. 1, includes a reel pivot 11 and a handle 12. The reel pivot 11 is formed with a hollow shaft 111 having a lower end extending outward diametrically and forming a stopping rim 112 and the outer circumference of the other end formed with three support ribs 113 extending axially. Each support rib 113 has its upper edge connected with a concave holding plate 114 having its rear end connected with the stopping rim 112. After a membrane reel is fitted on the reel pivot, the inner wall of the central tube of the membrane reel and the opposite axial side edges 115 of holding plates 114 can be firmly engaged with each other and fixed in position. Thus, a user can hold the handle 12 to carry out releasing and strapping work of membrane.
However, although the inner diameters of the central tubes of common membrane reels are fixed and similar in size, yet there is still a little difference between them. In addition, the holding plates 114 assembled on the conventional membrane strapping dispenser 10 for fixing the central tube of the membrane reel are fixed in structure and in size, inapplicable to all central tubes of membrane reel with similar sizes. As a result, it is always found that the membrane reel cannot be fitted on the reel pivot or that the membrane reel cannot be firmly fixed in position after it is fitted on the reel pivot.
The objective of the invention is to offer a membrane reel fixing device for a membrane-strapping dispenser, provided with a reel pivot having its circumference formed integral with three support ribs extending outward axially. Each support rid is connected with a convex holding plate extending along the circumference of the reel pivot. The three holding plates have their lower sides opposite to a handle fitting rod suspended in midair; therefore, when pressed diametrically, the holding plates can be elastically shifted and deformed and after a membrane reel is fitted on the reel pivot, the holding plates are able to firmly press the inner wall of the central tube of the membrane reel. Thus, different-sized membrane reels can be firmly fitted on the reel pivot of the membrane strapping dispenser of this invention by means of the holding plates that can be elastically shifted and deformed.
This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional membrane strapping dispenser;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a membrane strapping dispenser in the present invention:
FIG. 3 is a side cross-sectional view of a membrane reel fixing device for a membrane strapping dispenser in the present invention:
FIG. 4 is an upper view of the membrane reel fixing device for a membrane strapping dispenser in the present invention: and
FIG. 5 is an upper view of the membrane reel fixing device for a membrane strapping dispenser with a membrane reel fitted on a reel pivot in the present invention.
A preferred embodiment of a membrane reel fixing device for a membrane strapping dispenser in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, includes a reel pivot 20, a handle fitting rod 30 extending axially from one end of the reel pivot 20, and a movable handle 40 pivotally fitted on the handle fitting rod 30.
The reel pivot 20 is formed with a hollow shaft 21 having the circumference of one end extending outward to form a stopping annular surface 22 having one side extending outward diametrically and forming a stopping rim 23. The hollow shaft 21 is connected integrally with the handle fitting rod 30. The membrane 52 on the membrane reel 50 can be released for strapping after the central tube of the membrane reel 50 is firmly fitted on the reel pivot 20, as shown in FIG. 5.
Further, the hollow shaft 21 of the reel pivot 20 has its outer circumferential surface formed integral with three support ribs 24 protruding outward and spaced apart equidistantly. Each support rib 24 has its upper edge formed with a convex holding plate 25 extending along the circumference of the reel pivot 20 and having its inner intermediate portion connected with the support rib 24. Each holding plate 25 has its upper end protruding out of the support rib 24 so that the holding plates 25 can be elastically pressed to move inward for facilitating fitting a membrane reel 50 on the reel pivot 20. In addition, each holding plate 25 has its opposite outer walls respectively and axially fixed with a tightening rib 251 protruding outward to exceed the inner diameter of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 and each tightening rib 251 of the holding plate 25 is formed with an arc-shaped upper edge 252 for closely pushing against the inner wall of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 fitted thereon. Each tightening ribs 251 has its insert end formed with a guiding slope 253 for smoothly guiding the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 to be fitted on the reel pivot 20. Furthermore, the holding plates 25 have their lower sides opposite to the handle fitting rod 30 separated from the stopping rim 23 and suspended in midair. Thus, when pressed inward diametrically, the holding plates 25 can be elastically shifted and deformed to closely push against the inner wall of the central tube 51 after the membrane reel 50 is fitted on the reel pivot 20.
In using, as shown in FIG. 5, firstly, the reel pivot 20 of the membrane strapping dispenser is inserted in the shaft hole 511 of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50. The inner wall of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 can be smoothly guided and fitted on the reel pivot 20 through the guiding slopes 253 at the front sides of the tightening ribs 251 of the holding plates 25. Since the holding plates 25 have their tightening ribs 251 protruding out a little to exceed the inner diameter of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50; therefore, when the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 is continuously inserted inward on the reel pivot 20, the tightening ribs 251 of the holding plates 25 will be pressed by the inner wall of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 to move bias elastically to enable the membrane reel 50 to be smoothly fitted on the reel pivot 20. At this time, the tightening ribs 251 of the holding plates 25, after shifted and deformed elastically, can closely push against the inner wall of the central tube 51 of the membrane reel 50 and firmly fix the membrane reel 50 on the reel pivot 20.
As can be understood from the above description, the tightening ribs 251 of the holding plates 25 of the membrane strapping dispenser of this invention can be elastically adjusted to move bias in accordance with different sizes of the central tubes 51 of membrane reels 50. Therefore, the central tubes 51 of membrane reels 50 with a little difference in size can be firmly fitted on the reel pivot 20 of the membrane strapping dispenser for carrying out releasing and strapping work of the membrane 52.
While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
