Abstract:
The Post (or “standard”) has hook type “catches” (an upper one upwardly directed and a lower one downwardly directed) and a top protection plate (or “head grip”). The catches serve to attach security mesh fence and the plate serves to allow protection from the upper catch and also driving the post into the ground.

Claims:
1. A Security Mesh Standard for use in erecting security mesh netting comprising: a specific geometrically proportioned security mesh standard frame; and the geometrical proportions and/or measurements of the security mesh standard are determined as follows. (i.e. The determined length of the said security mesh standard is at least 1000 millimetres and can be increased to 2700 millimetres and the determined diameter of the security mesh standard is at least 8 millimetres and can be increased to 60 millimetres; and features a head grip and two or more specifically located catches.

2. A Security Mesh Standard, as claimed in claim 1, substantially as herein described with reference to anyone of the examples or drawings.

3. A Security Mesh Standard, as claimed in claims 1, in the preferred embodiment defined as having geometrical proportions and/or measurements of 1350 millimetres in length and 12 millimetres in diameter for the main body.

4. A Security Mesh Standard, as claimed in claim 3, substantially as herein described with reference to any one of the examples or drawings.

Description:

Be it known that I Peter Cooksley, a citizen of New Zealand, residing at Pukekohe, South Auckland, New Zealand has invented certain new and useful improvements in ‘THE SHAPE, FUNCTION AND SIZE’ of security mesh standards, of which the following is a specification and reference to the drawings accompanying.

The present application is based upon apparatus I have devised and employed for the purpose of improving security mesh standard design to high efficiency. This new design drastically reduces the risk of potential injury during the standard installation and removal process.

The improvements include a unique design and an improved system for the installation and removal of the ‘SECURITY MESH NETTING’ by means of a modified ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARD’.

To this end, I have constructed improvements in the shape and size of security mesh standards, in such a manner that the installation and removal of security mesh netting is faster, safer and more affordable.

The type of ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARDS’ in which the last name features are designed to a specific geometrical proportion, and this form I generally employ.

In constructing my modified ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARDS’I have employed two “Catches” (of steel and/or other material, featuring flexible and/or robust qualities) of specific geometrical angulations and locations, for the purpose of securing the security mesh netting to the modified and improved ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARDS’.

There is NO need for tying the security mesh netting (or like material of similar purpose) to the new design as it hooks to the new ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARD’ via the two steel catches. (The “Catches” hook and hold the security mesh netting in place, where desired).

There is absolutely no tying of the netting required at any time, which will be far more effective in the provision of ‘time spent’ through the installation and removal of the said ‘SECURITY MESH NETTING’ (or like material of similar purpose) compared to that of the presently used ‘SECURITY MESH STANDARDS’ which require the security mesh netting to be tied to them.

The present security mesh standards are extremely dangerous to install and they have sharp edges exposed at the top end. There have been many injuries over the years due to the bulky and sharp-edged design of this particular device. They are time consuming to install and remove, because they have to be driven into the ground many times further than my new design. They are also extremely dangerous to persons installing or removing them, due to their sharp edged {top & bottom} design.

The accompanying drawings/illustrations are referred to as:

“The Main Illustration”: (that is, the here mentioned security mesh standard in form complete, which features the views of A, detail B, detail C and view D) is a complete drawing illustration of the main body of design improvement of the “SECURITY MESH STANDARD”.

VIEW A is the bottom/base view and part section of the improved form of the said “SECURITY MESH STANDARD” in accordance with my invention.

VIEW D is the above/top elevation and part section of the improved form of the said “SECURITY MESH STANDARD”.

The ‘Main Body’ of the standard has an overall length of at least 1000 millimetres and can be increased to about 2700 millimetres while the diameter of at least 8 millimetres and can be increased to about 60 millimetres.

This can be of steel construction, or like material, which features robust and/or flexible qualities (refer drawing view A, detail B, detail C and view D).

In a preferred embodiment the invention's overall length of the ‘Main Body’ is 1350 millimetres with a diameter or width of 12 millimetres. This may vary in other modified forms of the device.

Two ‘Catches’ feature on the ‘Main Body’ of the standard. Where specific geometrical angulations are required for each individual Security Mesh Standard.

This may vary in modified forms of the device. The catches should be at least 10 millimetres and can be increased to about 100 millimetres in length. The diameter or width of the catches should be at least 3 millimetres and can be increased to about 20 millimetres (refer drawings view A, detail B, detail C and view D). The bottom catch should be 300 millimetres from the base of the ‘Improved Security Mesh Standard’ (refer drawing detail B). This may vary in modified forms of the device.

The top catch should be 40 millimetres from the (‘Head Grip’) top of the main body (refer drawing detail C). This may vary in modified forms of the device.

The ‘Head Grip’ in a preferred embodiment should have a diameter of 50 millimetres and have a depth of 3 millimetres. However, this may vary in modified forms of the device.

SECURITY MESH STANDARD IMPROVEMENT, MODIFICATION AND DESIGN FEATURES

The complete “Security Mesh Standard” (‘Main Body’) is viewed in this patent description and patent claim as VIEW A, detail B, detail C and VIEW D.

The “Head Grip” or top of the “Security Mesh Standard” is viewed in this patent description and patent claim as VIEW D.

The “Bottom Catch” of the “Security Mesh Standard” is viewed in this patent description and patent claim as Detail B.

The “Top Catch” of the “Security Mesh Standard” is viewed in this patent description and patent claim as Detail C.

The two specific geometrically angulated “Steel Catches” and “Head Grip” on the security mesh standard unit should be preferably constructed as detailed on the drawing FIG. 1. (Please view all the illustrations).

The “Head Grip” (shown as view D) has a dual purpose. Firstly in protecting individuals from potential injury from the “Top Steel Catch” that is pointing upwards, as the “Top Steel Catch” is concealed underneath the “Head Grip” (refer drawing FIG. 1, detail C) and secondly as a platform for the person or persons erecting the security mesh netting to push down onto the “Security Mesh Standard” is driven into the earth and/or ground. The netting should be secured onto the Steel Catches as desired.

The new and improved “Security Mesh Standards Main Body” has two steel catches and a “HEAD GRIP”. This may vary in modified forms of the device. {e.g. extra catches maybe required depending on the applications}.
