1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a pump, and more particularly to a pump for a foot bath.
2. Description of the Related Art
A conventional foot bath comprises bath body containing hot water therein, and a motor mounted in the bath body for injecting water beams into the bath body to provide a massaging effect a user's feet placed in the bath body. However, the motor produces greater noise during rotation, thereby easily causing an uncomfortable sensation to the user.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a pump, comprising a lower cover, an upper cover, a rotation disk, and a power motor. The lower cover has an inside formed with a mounting hole. The upper cover is mounted on the lower cover and has an inside formed with a chamber communicating with the inside of the lower cover. The rotation disk is rotatably mounted between the upper cover and the lower cover. The power motor is mounted on the upper cover and has a lower portion provided with a rotation shaft extended into the upper cover and secured to the rotation disk so that the rotation disk is rotated in concert with the rotation shaft of the power motor synchronously.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a pump having a noise depression effect.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a pump, wherein the lower portion of the power motor is extended into the inside of the upper cover and encompassed by the upper cover, thereby greatly reducing the sound produced during rotation of the power motor.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a pump, wherein the noise produced during rotation of the power motor is eliminated, so that the foot bath is operated in a more silent manner, thereby providing a comfortable sensation to the user.
Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a pump for a foot bath in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a lower cover 1′, an upper cover 3, a rotation disk 2, and a power motor 4.
The lower cover 1 has an inside formed with a mounting hole 12, a plurality of mounting plates 121 mounted in the mounting hole 12 and a plurality of flow passages 122 defined between the mounting plates 121 and communicating with the inside of the lower cover 1. The lower cover 1 has a side formed with a lower semi-circular hole 15 communicating with the inside of the lower cover 1. The lower cover 1 has a periphery formed with a plurality of fixing ears 13.
The upper cover 3 is mounted on the lower cover 1 and has an inside formed with a chamber 32 communicating with the inside of the lower cover 1 to allow passage of a fluid. The upper cover 3 has a protruding post 33 extended into the chamber 32. The protruding post 33 of the upper cover 3 has an inside formed with a mounting bore 34 and a periphery formed with a plurality of elongated slots 35 surrounding the mounting bore 34. The upper cover 3 has a side formed with an upper semi-circular hole 36 communicating with the chamber 32 and juxtaposed to the lower semi-circular hole 15 of the lower cover 1 to form a circular flow channel 6. The upper cover 3 has a periphery formed with a plurality of fixing ears 38 secured to the fixing ears 13 of the lower cover 1 by a plurality of locking screws 14 so that the upper cover 3 is secured to the lower cover 1. The upper cover 3 has a bottom having a periphery formed with an elongated protruding strips 37 inserted into a top of the lower cover 1 to provide an air-tight effect between the upper cover 3 and the lower cover 1.
The rotation disk 2 is rotatably mounted between the upper cover 3 and the lower cover 1. The rotation disk 2 has a substantially inverted hill shape and has a lower portion formed with a protruding block 24 received in the mounting hole 12 of the lower cover 1. The rotation disk 2 has a periphery provided with a plurality of longer blades 22 and a plurality of shorter blades 23 arranged in a staggered manner.
The power motor 4 is mounted on the upper cover 3 and has a lower portion provided with a rotation shaft 43 extended into the upper cover 3 and secured to the rotation disk 2 so that the rotation disk 2 is rotated in concert with the rotation shaft 43 of the power motor 4 synchronously. The lower portion of the power motor 4 is extended into the inside of the upper cover 3 and encompassed by the upper cover 3. The lower portion of the power motor 4 has a protruding mounting portion 42 mounted in the mounting bore 34 of the protruding post 33 of the upper cover 3. The rotation shaft 43 of the power motor 4 is extended through the mounting bore 34 of the protruding post 33 of the upper cover 3.
Referring to FIGS. 1-3, the pump is mounted in a foot bath 5. In operation, when the power motor 4 is started, the rotation shaft 43 of the power motor 4 is rotated, and the rotation disk 2 is rotated in concert with the rotation shaft 43 of the power motor 4 synchronously. At this time, the longer blades 22 and the shorter blades 23 of the rotation disk 2 are rotated to drive the air to flow toward the circular flow channel 6 formed by the upper semi-circular hole 36 of the upper cover 3 and the lower semi-circular hole 15 of the lower cover 1 to drive the air under the lower cover 1 to pass through the flow passages 122 into the inside of the lower cover 1 and into the inside of the foot bath 5.
Accordingly, the lower portion of the power motor 4 is extended into the inside of the upper cover 3 and encompassed by the upper cover 3, thereby greatly reducing the sound produced during rotation of the power motor 4. In addition, the noise produced during rotation of the power motor 4 is eliminated, so that the foot bath 5 is operated in a more silent manner, thereby providing a comfortable sensation to the user.
Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the lower cover 1 has a side formed with two parallel lower semi-circular holes 15 communicating with the inside of the lower cover 1, and the upper cover 3 has a side formed with two parallel upper semi-circular holes 36 communicating with the chamber 32 and juxtaposed to the lower semi-circular holes 15 of the lower cover 1 to form two circular flow channels 6, thereby enhancing the massaging effect of the foot bath 5.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
