Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention is related to a field of headwear and, more particularly, to the visor which allows users to have gradually increased visions by step and resolves pressure feeling in the forehead.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A baseball-style cap generally includes a crown main body which is main portion having one or more of sheets of panels, a visor portion which is attached to the bottom of front of said crown, a sweatband which is attached to under circular portion of inside of said crown, and a size controller which is attached to under portion of rear side of said crown and a visor can act to protect the wearer's face from sunlight in the middle of sport activities.

It has been found, however, that due to reduced vision, a wearer had to raise cap or turn it backward to gain more broad vision.

As for material for said visor, in addition, hard material had usually been used to keep it in shape. Therefore, when worn for extended time, cap may cause a problem of giving severe pressure feeling in both sides of the wear's head including forehead, which have called an improvement.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing, one object of the present invention is to provide the headwear having the improved visor which allows users easily control visions by step through converting it.

Another object of the present invention is to provide the headwear can be relieved the pressure feeling in both sides of the wear's head including forehead.

In accordance with these objects, the visor according to the present invention is attached under portion in front of crown portion and has special feature of being separated into soft material portion and hard material portion. Said soft material is made of EVA(Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), and necessarily not limited to it; any equivalent soft material may be used. And said hard material is made of PE (Polyethylene) foam, and also necessarily not limited to it; any equivalent hard material may be used.

In addition, as for applying said visor, except baseball-style cap, it may be used for any style of headwear having visor.

FIG. 2 is a sectioned partial side view of cap according to the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a sectioned partial side view of cap being adapted to 1 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a sectioned partial side view of cap being adapted to 2 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention;

FIG. 5 is, as being another embodiment according to the present invention, a side view of sun visor being adapted to 2 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

In describing preferred embodiments of the invention illustrated in the drawings, it is to be understood that these embodiments are given by way of illustration only. It is not intended that the invention be limited in its scope to the details of construction and arrangement of components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. Also, in describing the preferred embodiments, specific terminology will be resorted to for the sake of clarity. It is to be understood that each specific term includes all technical equivalents which operate in a similar manner to accomplish a similar purpose.

The present invention is directed to a visor suitable for use with headwear of various types, but is described herein in connection with a baseball-style cap as shown in FIG. 2. It is understood that the inventive visor may also be used with other types of headwear or even alone.

FIG. 1 is a sectioned partial side view of visor of conventional baseball style cap. As shown in FIG. 1, conventional baseball style cap is composed of crown portion 1 which is main part of cap and made of several sheets of panels, visor portion 2 which is attached in front of said crown, and a size controller portion 3 which is attached to under portion of rear side of said crown. As mentioned above, the visor of conventional cap had been kept in shape being made with single hard material 4. But due to this kind of construction, a wearer had to raise cap or turn it backward to gain more broad vision.

FIG. 2 is a sectioned partial side view of cap according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2, the visor according to the present invention is attached in front of crown portion and has special feature of being separated into soft material portion 5 and hard material 4 portion, when both materials is sewn along the line being wrapped by upper fabric 6 and lower fabric 7, and another sewing line 8 is made between said 2 materials. Said soft material 5 is made of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), and necessarily not limited to it; any equivalent soft material may be used. Said hard material 4 is made of PE (Polyethylene) foam, and also necessarily not limited to it; any equivalent hard material may be used. For said two materials, also, location of soft material 5 and hard material 4 may be exchanged, and the same kinds of materials may be divided. Again, the visor structure of the present invention may be set to two pieces of soft materials or two pieces of hard materials. And according to said structure, the cap of the present invention provides 2 steps of visions.

FIG. 3 is a sectioned partial side view of cap being adapted to 1 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3, at 1 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention, lower portion of visor 2 is raised and set so that upper circular portion of visor nearly touches the front portion of crown. For inside portion of said visor soft material 5 is used at upper circular portion and hard material 4 is used at the rest portions. When worn for extended time, the cap according to the present invention gives comfortable feeling and causes no pressure feeling in both sides of the wearer's head including forehead unlike conventional cap.

FIG. 4 is a sectioned partial side view of cap being adapted to 2 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 4, at 2 step, as the same with 1 step, of vision gaining function according to the present invention, as visor 2 is made of soft material 5 and hard material 4, upper circular portion of visor is raised and set so that it touches the front portion of crown. As a result with this function, a wearer can gain sufficient vision without turning cap backward.

FIG. 5 is, as being another embodiment according to the present invention, a side view of cap being adapted to 2 step of vision gaining function according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 5 and as another embodiment according to the present invention, said function may be applied to sun visor, which is different type of headwear other than normal baseball style cap. As the same with said baseball style cap, the visor of the present embodiment is made of soft material and hard material, and circular portion of visor 10 is raised and set so that it touches the front rim portion 9 of sun visor. As a result with this function, also in this type of headwear, a wearer can gain sufficient vision without turning sun visor backward.

The foregoing descriptions and drawings should be considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. The invention may be configured in a variety of shapes and sizes and is not limited by the dimensions of the preferred embodiment. Numerous applications of the present invention will readily occur to those skilled in the art. For example, the visor may be incorporated into hats, caps and sun visors of other styles. Therefore, it is not desired to limit the invention to the specific examples disclosed or the exact construction and operation shown and described. Rather, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
