BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0004] 1. Field of the Invention

[0005] This invention relates to fabric covers, especially to fabric covers made of nylon which help protect golf club grips.

[0006] 2. Background of the Invention

[0007] The grip cover for golf clubs provides a portable protective barrier between the grips of the golf club and wet grass often encountered on a golf course. The grip cover is slipped over the grip of the golf club before a club is placed on the ground to help protect the grip and keep it dry; the grip cover is then removed prior to swinging the club.

[0008] The purposes of the invention are:

[0009] To help keep grips dry by providing a barrier between wet grass and other wet objects encountered during golf and the club grips.

[0010] To help protect grips from wear and tear by providing a barrier between golf club grips and the natural environment.

[0011] Although there are other forms of grip covers, this invention has the following advantages:

[0012] It helps keep the club grips dry rather than being strictly ornamental

[0013] It helps protect the club grips from damage from objects encountered during golf.

SUMMARY

[0014] The Grip Cover for Golf Club consists of fabric cut and sewn into a shape which fits purposefully over the grip of a golf club.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0016] The body (4) is made of fabric which is cut and sewn into the shape as shown in FIG. 1. Vents (2) are cut and sewn into the body to provide a loose bottom opening (3) for ease of insertion and removal of the club grips. The vents also allow room to fasten embroidery hoops for custom decoration of the grip cover. The grip cover is closed on three sides by sewing and has an opening (3) on one side. A grommet (1) is inserted on the top end for use with a clip or other device to attach to a golf bag or other device.

[0017] The user inserts the grip of the club into the Grip Cover through the bottom opening, the club can then be placed on the ground, grass or other object. When not in use, a clip may be attached through the grommet and the Grip Cover attached to a golf bag or other device.
