[0001] Prayer Boxes are a symbolic artwork which represents a meaning to the owner. Prayer Boxes are a set of two containers related to the poem “God's Boxes” by author unknown.
[0002] I have in my hands two boxes
[0003] Which God gave me to hold
[0004] He said, “Put all your sorrows in the black box,
[0005] And all your joys in the gold.”
[0006] I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
[0007] Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
[0008] But though the gold became heavier each day
[0009] The black was as light as before.
[0010] With curiosity, I opened the black,
[0011] I wanted to find out why,
[0012] And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
[0013] Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
[0014] I showed the hole to God, and mused,
[0015] “I wonder where my sorrows could be.”
[0016] He smiled a gentle smile and said,
[0017] “My child, they
[0018] re all here with me.”
[0019] I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
[0020] Why the gold, and the black with the hole?
[0021] “MY child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
[0022] The black is for you to let go.”
[0023] The Prayer Boxes are a set of identical containers and the words of gold and black are used to identify the meaning for the boxes not the color.
[0024] The black prayer box will have a lid that is removable so you can see the hole in the bottom of the container. The bottom of the black prayer box will have a obvious hole in it
[0025] The black prayer will weigh less than the gold prayer box.
[0026] The gold prayer box will have a lid that is removable so you can see the solid bottom. The gold prayer box will weigh more than the black prayer box.
[0027] The Prayer Boxes are shown in a identical square set for ease of drawing they can be any size or geometric shape.
