Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention is related to a grease dispensing device, and more particularly to a grease dispenser with illumination effect.

[0002] A conventional grease gun is used to apply the grease onto a work piece. Depending on the types of power sources, the grease guns are divided into pneumatic grease gun and manual grease gun. In use of all these grease guns, an operator often encounters such a problem that the grease is often applied to an interior of a machine, which lacks sufficient illumination. In order to overcome this problem, an independent illuminator is additionally hung on a certain place of the working site to provide sufficient illumination to facilitate the dispensing of the grease.

[0003] However, it is not optimal to hang the additional illuminator on the place of the working site. There are three reasons. First, it is necessary to provide a suitable place for the independent illuminator to hang thereon. This is troublesome and increases working burden and affects working efficiency. Second, after the illuminator is hung, the wires of the power supply are often randomly scattered around. This affects the working environment and may lead to problem in safety. Third and most importantly, as mentioned above, the place to which the grease is applied is often hidden in a machine and lacks illumination. In other words, it cannot be ensured that the light emitted from the additional illuminator reach the place to which the grease is applied. The other articles in the working site or the operator himself may obstruct the light to form a shadow and affect the illumination effect.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a grease dispenser with illumination effect, which can truly provide illumination effect for the place to which the grease is applied.

[0005] It is a further object of the present invention to provide the above grease dispenser with illumination effect, which can at the same time provide illumination effect when applying the grease with the grease dispenser. This makes it unnecessary to use an independent illuminator and avoid danger and extra working burden.

[0006] According to the above objects, the grease dispensing device of the present invention includes a grease dispenser and an illuminator. The grease dispenser has a cap body formed with a moving passage, whereby under external force, the grease in the cap body is pushed through the moving passage. A tube body with a predetermined length outward extends from one side of the cap body. The opening of one end of the tube body communicates with the moving passage of the cap body, whereby the grease can pass through the moving passage to go into the opening of the end of the tube body and go out from the opening of the other end of the tube body distal from the cap body. The illuminator is disposed on the cap body and has a lighting section. The lighting section serves to project light onto a predetermined position corresponding to the opening of the other end of the tube body.

[0007] The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein:

[0012] FIG. 5 is a perspective assembled view of a second embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 4. According to a first embodiment, the grease dispensing device 10 of the present invention includes a grease dispenser 20 and an illuminator 30.

[0014] The grease dispenser 20 basically a conventional manually operable grease gun having a barrel 21 in which the grease is contained. A strong spring is disposed on the bottom of the barrel 21 to push the grease upward. A cap body 22 is disposed at top end of the barrel 21. The cap body 22 is formed with a moving passage (not shown communicating with the internal space of the barrel 21. The grease is pushed upward into the moving passage. One end of a tube body 23 is fixedly connected with the cap body 22. The tube body 23 has bending free end. The internal passage of the tube body 23 communicates with the moving passage of the cap body 22, whereby the grease can pass through the moving passage and the tube body 23 to go out from the opening of top end of the tube body 23. A push section 24 is pivotally disposed on the cap body 22. A certain portion (generally a rod body) of the push section 24 extends into the moving passage to provide a pushing force for pushing and moving the grease through the moving passage and further pushing the grease 23 out of the opening of the tube body 23. The above pertains to prior art and will not be further described hereinafter. The grease dispenser 20 further has a thread hole 25 formed on one end face of the cap body 22. The opening of the thread hole 25 faces the opening of the fixed end of the tube body 23. The thread hole 25 is not connected with the moving passage or the push section 24. In other words, the thread hole 25 is independently disposed on a certain portion of the cap body 22.

[0015] The illuminator 30 has a substantially cylindrical hollow body section 31. The circumference of the bottom end of the body section 31 is formed with a thread 311 corresponding to the thread hole 25. Accordingly, the bottom end of the body section 31 can be coaxially screwed into the thread hole 25 to connect with the cap body. After screwed into the thread hole 25 and located therein, the body section 31 corresponds to the opening of the other end of the tube body 23. A power supply (not shown) is accommodated in the hollow interior of the body section 31. The power supply can be a conventional mercury cell. The positive and negative electrodes of the cell are connected with conductive wires which form a contact point at top end of the body section 31. This pertains to prior art. A lighting section 32 is fixedly connected with the top end of the body section 31. Via the contact point, the lighting section 32 is powered by the power supply to emit light and achieve illumination effect. In accordance with the direction and angle of arrangement of the body section 31, the light projected by the lighting section 32 is directed to the opening of the other end of the tube body 23 and the illumination range covers the opening of the other end of the tube body 23.

[0016] In use, an operator can dispenses the grease from the opening of the other end of the tube body 23 into a part of a machine. The illuminator 30 projects light onto a certain range centered at the opening of the other end of the tube body 23. When applying the grease onto the part, the illuminator 30 provides illumination effect for the grease dispenser 20 and the part to which the grease is applied. Accordingly, the shortcomings existing in the conventional device are eliminated. Moreover, an illumination effect can be achieved without interfering with the original operation.

[0017] The present invention is applicable to all types of grease guns. FIG. 5 shows that the present invention is applied to a conventional pneumatic grease gun. In this embodiment, the body section 31′ of the illuminator 30′ is screwed and fixed on a gun-shaped main body 22′ of the grease dispenser 20′. A connecting plate protrudes from one side of the main body 22′. A thread hole 25′ is formed on the connecting plate for connecting the body section 31′ with the grease dispenser 20′. Accordingly, the illuminator 30′ is fixed on the grease dispenser 20′ and the illumination range of the lighting section 33′ covers the opening of the other end of the tube body 23′. This achieves the same function as the first embodiment.

[0018] The above embodiments are only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiments can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
