Claims:

What is claimed is:



1. A composition comprising: a wax; a sealer and glaze; and a polish.

2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein an approximate equal volume of each component is present.

3. The composition according to claim 1, wherein viscosity of the composition is sufficiently low that the composition can be dispensed through a spray nozzle.

4. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the wax is a carnauba wax.

5. The composition according to claim 1, further comprising a scratch remover.

6. The composition according to claim 5, wherein the volume of scratch remover is one half of the volume of each or any of the other claimed ingredients.

7. A method of improving the appearance of a surface comprising: polishing the surface with a composition, the composition comprising: a wax, a sealer and glaze and a polish, wherein the composition is sprayed on one of a paper towel where the paper towel can be used as an applicator and buffing tool and the surface to be polished where the paper towel can be used as a buffing tool; and buffing the surface until a desired polish is obtained, wherein the composition has a sufficiently low viscosity that it can be sprayed through a spray nozzle on a container containing the composition.

8. The method according to claim 7, wherein an approximate equal volume of each component is present.

9. The method according to claim 7, wherein the surface is a vehicle surface.

10. The method according to claim 7, wherein the composition further comprises a scratch remover.

11. The method according to claim 10, wherein the volume of scratch remover is one half of the volume of each or any of the other claimed ingredients.

12. The method according to claim 7, wherein the wax is a carnauba wax.

13. The method according to claim 7, wherein the paper towels are reinforced with plastic filaments.

14. The method according to claim 7, wherein the paper towels are reinforced with woven or non-woven plastic cloth.

15. A kit for polishing surfaces, the kit comprising: a container having means for dispensing a composition container therein, the composition comprising a wax, a sealer and glaze, and a polish; one or more paper towels; and a package containing the combination of the container and paper towels.

16. The kit according to claim 15, wherein the paper towels are reinforced with plastic filaments.

17. The kit according to claim 15, wherein the paper towels are reinforced with woven or non-woven plastic cloth.

18. The kit according to claim 15, wherein the means for dispensing the composition is a spray nozzle in communication with the container for the application of the composition to one of a surface to be polished or directly on the paper towels.

19. The kit according to claim 15, wherein an approximate equal volume of each component is present.

20. The kit according to claim 15, wherein viscosity of the composition is sufficiently low that the composition can be dispensed through a spray nozzle.

21. The kit according to claim 15, wherein the wax is a carnauba wax.

22. The kit according to claim 15, further comprising a scratch remover.

23. The kit according to claim 22, wherein the volume of scratch remover is one half of the volume of each or any of the other claimed ingredients.

Description:
[0001] The invention relates to a composition, method and kit for polishing all metal surfaces, glass, plastics, and painted surfaces, particularly motor vehicles.

[0002] The composition of the present invention contains a wax, a sealer and glaze and a polish. In a preferred embodiment, an approximate equal volume of each component is present. Preferably, the viscosity of the composition is sufficiently low so that the composition can be dispensed through a spray nozzle. Preferably, the composition also contains a scratch remover. The preferred volume of scratch remover is approximately one half of the volume of each or any of the other ingredients. Also paper is very important in the application and as a buffing tool.

[0003] The composition is preferably packaged with one or more paper towels. The paper towels can be in the form of a roll or stacked. Shine is impressively improved and brilliantly enhanced when paper towels are used as an applicator and buffing tool, as opposed to the shine result obtained when using cloth. The paper towels are preferably reinforced with plastic filaments or woven or non-woven plastic cloth.

[0004] The composition is in a container. A spray nozzle is in communication with the container for the application of the composition to a surface, such as the surface of an automobile.

[0005] The composition is preferably sprayed directly on the towel or can be sprayed on the surface, as needed, through a spray nozzle, and the towel then used as an applicator as well as a buffing tool. It was found that paper based towels work much better than cloth to shine recesses and crevices in the body part surface and significantly improve the buffing process. The reinforced towels work extremely well and demonstrated their durability for continued use when faced with several recesses and crevices in the design of the automobile body surface.

[0006] The surface is then rubbed with the paper towel to polish the surface. As mentioned above, the paper towel is preferably reinforced with plastic filaments or plastic cloth.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 shows a spray container and paper towels in a container shown conceptually. The towels may be in the form of a roll as depicted.

EXAMPLE 1

[0008] Equal parts by volume of MOTHERS CALIFORNIA GOLD® PURE CARNAUBA WAX, SEALER AND GLAZE, AND SHOWTIME INSTANT DETAILER are mixed. SEALER AND GLAZE is one component. The mixture or resultant composition 1 is placed in container 3 and sprayed through nozzle 4 onto a surface to be polished or on the towel 5 for subsequent rubbing and polishing. The surface can be glass, chrome, plastic, paint or an aluminized surface. Polishing is completed using paper towels, preferably towels 5 with reinforced features as described above. The paper towel was a Kimberly-Clark® SHOP TOWEL made from wood pulp and reinforced with spunbonded polypropylene.

[0009] From the example above, one can see that similar shop towel products that are durable when used in combination with the inventive composition provides for an enhanced polished surface meeting a showroom brilliant shine. Further, a power polisher may also be used in conjunction with the paper towels to polish the surface.

EXAMPLE 2

[0010] Example 1 was repeated with the addition of MOTHERS CALIFORNIA GOLD® SCRATCH REMOVER to the mixture. The volume of MOTHERS CALIFORNIA GOLD® SCRATCH REMOVER was half the volume of the MOTHERS CALIFORNIA GOLD® PURE CARNAUBA WAX.

[0011] The resultant shine obtained with the added component was even more impressive than the resultant shine using the mixture of Example 1.

[0012] It is contemplated that the invention would also be ideally packaged as a kit having spray container 3 and paper towels 5. The packaging is represented conceptually by box 7. The packaging 7 can be a simple box or a cardboard laminate with plastic overlay for sale as a kit.

[0013] MOTHERS CALIFORNIA GOLD® products are preferred, but can be replaced with competitive products. The component car polishes, waxes, sealers, glazes, detailers, etc., are well documented in Patents and will not be discussed in detail in this patent application. The components, such as the carnauba wax, are preferably of a liquid form so that the mixture viscosity is sufficiently low to spray through a standard bottle or container sprayer without clogging the spray nozzle valve.
