Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus, specifically to a in-line swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus, more specifically to a conveniently located inline swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus consisting of a storage container, hose reel unit, and faceplate unit providing a means for sandwiching a swimming pool wall or other vertical or horizontal surface providing a means of coiling, storing, and dispensing a vacuum hose through a surface.

[0002] Several times a week it is necessary to vacuum a pool to remove accumulated dirt, leaves, and other debris that enters a pool and sinks to the bottom. For this purpose, nearly every pool owner uses the pool's filtration system, a vacuum hose, and a vacuum head. One end of the vacuum hose is connected to a vacuum head having an adjustable pole attached for the purpose of maneuvering the vacuum head and the other end of the vacuum hose is connected to the intake line of the pool filtration system. With the pool filtration system running supplying the necessary suction the submerged vacuum head is maneuvered to vacuum up the accumulations that will be carried away by the water suction through the vacuum hose to be disposed of. Coiling and storing a vacuum hose after use is difficult and time consuming. Most vacuum hoses are of substantial lengths and stiffness making them difficult to handle.

[0003] Most vacuum hoses are usually hung on hooks attached to a swimming pool, a building or a fence creating an unpleasant sight or are put away in sheds or garages adding to the inconvenience of having to retrieve them to vacuum a swimming pool.

[0004] Prior art vacuum hose storage carts utilized for the purpose of storing vacuum hoses are known to consist basically of familiar, expected and obvious structural configurations requiring the user to position and stabilize the vacuum hose storage cart while trying to coil the hose around the hose reel at the same time. By way of example, the prior art includes U.S. Pat. No. 4,228,553 to Genuit discloses a storage and dispensing apparatus for swimming pool vacuum hoses, and U.S. Pat. No. 5,626,307 to Smith discloses a mobile swimming pool maintenance supplies storage cabinet with ventilation and drainage and with vacuum hose reel enclosed under slidable roof.

[0005] The present invention provides a convenient and easy access stationary in-line swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus that provides a means for securing a storage container on one side of a vertical or horizontal to a faceplate unit directly aligned on the opposite side of the same surface. The faceplate unit provides access to the interior of the storage container housing a hose reel unit for the purpose of coiling and storing a vacuum hose.

[0006] In this respect, the inline swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in so doing provides a inline swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of providing the vacuum hose user with a conveniently located easy to operate stationary vacuum hose storage means.

[0007] Therefore, it can be appreciated that there exists a continuing need for a stationary inline swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus providing a more convenient means for coiling, storing, and dispensing a vacuum hose. In this regard, the present invention substantially fulfills this need.

[0008] In view of the forgoing disadvantages inherent in the know types of vacuum hose storage carts now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved inline swimming pool vacuum hose storage apparatus as such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail is to provide a more convenient means for coiling, storing, and accessing a vacuum hose.

[0009] Further objects and advantages will become apparent from a consideration of ensuing description and drawings.
