Abstract:
The users weight is distributed evenly between the stomach bench, Multi-position handgrips, and the elbow braces while running or walking in an upright position on the manuel treadmill. Because of this even distribution, stress is diverted away from the ankles, knees, and hips of the user. Therefore lower impact. Lower impact means the user can push heavier than normal leg weights for resistance exercises. Lower impact also means possibilities for physical rehabilitation. Straps attached to the top of the main frame unit of the invention, hold and support the added leg weight bags that can be attached to the users legs. While the user, who is balanced between the stomach bench, multi-position handgrips, and elbow braces, can push the leg weight bags forward, all while in an upright running position.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a training device for all Sports and sports related activities. More specifically, the present invention relates to a training device used in developing leg muscles for the users running speed and for walking and running power.

[0003] 2. Prior Art

[0004] Fear of injury to ankles, knees, and hip joints due to high impact is common among both inexperienced and seasoned athletes. In the past, most serious weight training methods for running had to be taught or accomplished with the athlete in something other than an upright running position. In the past, the movement resistance threshold for athletes in training with conventional leg weights while running was quite shallow. The ceiling for how much safe and affective weight an athlete in training can have while running was reached quite quickly, and this ceiling became the standard for years.

[0005] For most sports, training devices are known which assist only in development of effective techniques to enhance athletic motor skills and to improve muscle strength and flexibility.

[0006] Until now, no device was known, has been developed for training athletes to improve running speed and increase running power in a very effective and safe manner.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The principal object of the present invention is to provide a device for use in training athletes in effective and safe weight resistance technique while running or walking.

[0008] It also is an object of the present invention to provide such a device which can also aid in the rehabilitation of individuals with some prior sports related injuries.

[0009] Another object is to provide such a device in a sturdy and durable form that it can be used by numerous individuals such as those in a public health club and fitness facility.

[0010] A further object is to provide such a device which is of simple, inexpensive construction so that it can be purchased privately for home use.

[0011] The foregoing objects can be accomplished by providing a training device having one manual treadmill in the decline position. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the standard is formed by a large slanted frame, the bottom section Being two horizontal pieces made of the same material as the main frame unit. The connection between the base and the large slanted frame are two braces made of the same material. The afore mentioned treadmill is free standing and in the middle of the embodiment and on the floor. On the embodiment of the device is the adjustable balance bar and adjustable elbow braces. On the balance bar is an adjustable stomach bench. Attached to the horizontal bottom section is the swivel bench. Attached to the top of the large slant frame are two nylon adjustable straps that support weight bags. These weight bags are attached to the users legs and in turn are used for motion resistance.
