Title:
Spin dip-spin pop
Kind Code:
A1

Abstract:
The spin dip-spin pop is a novelty candy idea that combines two different types of candy which gives a blast of flavor with every dip and spin. The main housing of the spin pop contains a gearing system, power supply, motor and contact switches; the candy pop is comprised of one or more flavors, and a container attached to the lower end of the housing of the spin pop is a clear plastic container that holds one or more flavors of a powdered candy. The clear plastic container can be designed to thread on or snap on to the lower end of the spin pop housing. In use, the container is removed from the main housing to expose the candy powder. The spin pop is activated and the spinning candy pop is dipped into the candy powder to collect some of the candy powder which is then consumed by inserting the spinning candy pop into a person's mouth.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention is directed to an improvement of U.S. Pat. No. 5,209,692 for a candy holding device with a rotatable pop.

[0002] The spin dip-spin pop is a novelty device that combines at least two different types of candy that provides fun for a user as well as different flavors of candy with every dip and spin.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The spin pop includes a main housing which contains a gearing system which is driven by a small motor controlled by a contact switch and at least one battery. A candy pop is secured to a rotatable means at an upper end of the housing. The candy pop can be secured directly to the rotatable means or can be mounted on a stick which is secured at one end to the rotatable means. A container which contains at least one flavor of candy powder is secured to the lower end of the main housing by use of threads or a snap-on type. Therefore, the container is removable from the main housing for filling the container with candy powder or for spinning the candy pop in the flavored powder which adds different flavors to the candy pop.

[0004] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a combination candy pop and candy powder to provide different tastes of candy as well as to provide fun for a user.

[0005] Another object is to provide a spin dip spin pop device which affords a user the choice of consuming the candy pop alone or with an added candy powder.

[0006] Still another object is to provide a device which contains a candy pop and different candy powders that can be replenished upon being consumed.

[0007] Yet another object is to provide a combination spin dip-spin pop which includes a main housing to which a container can be secured for adding different flavored powder for consumption separately or together.

[0008] Other objects and advantages of the invention will become obvious to those skilled in the art upon a review of the drawings, specification and claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] FIG. 1 is a front view including a spin pop with a separated container; and

[0010] FIG. 2 illustrates a view of the working parts of the spin pop.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] Now referring to the drawings, there is shown in FIG. 1 a main housing 10 including a gearing system, a motor with a switch control, a power source and a rotating candy pop such as shown in FIG. 2. A separate container 12 is shown spaced from the main housing which can be secured to the lower end of the main housing by compatible male and female screw threads 14 and 16 or by a snap-on type. The container and the main housing can be made of any suitable material such as clear or opaque plastic.

[0012] FIG. 2 illustrates the operative features of the main housing including a motor 20, a power source 22 such as at least one battery 24 or any other known power source. The electrical circuit for operating the motor includes a switch means 26 which controls the operation of the motor. The motor is provided with a drive gear 18 which is compatible with a driven gear 30 on a shaft 32. The shaft 32 includes a second driven gear 34 which drives a gear 36 to which a shaft 38 is secured and which rotates with the gear 36. The upper end of the shaft 38 has a fitting 40 to which the lower end of a candy stick 42 is secured for rotation therewith. The fitting 40 could extend outside of the main housing so that a candy pop could be secured directly to the fitting 40 without the use of a stick.

[0013] In use, the container 12 is filled with at least one flavor of a candy powder or with a plurality of different flavors of candy powder or particles. The powder could be any granular type of candy or any other type which will cling to the candy sucker when dipped into the container. Subsequent to filling the container, the container can be secured to the main housing for future use. When one desires to have fun in eating the candy, the container 12 is removed from the main housing 10 and the candy pop 44 is rotated by operation of the control switch to operate the motor. The rotating pop is dipped into the candy powder during spinning to collect some of the candy powder onto the rotating candy pop. Subsequently, the person places the candy pop with the coating thereon into their mouth to enjoy a taste of the candy powder and the candy pop. In order to more readily have the candy powder collect onto the spinning pop, the person could wet the candy pop by first inserting the candy pop into their mouth. Thus, the candy powder will more readily collect onto the spinning pop. Once the candy pop and/or the candy powder has been completely consumed, whichever has been completely consumed can be replaced with the same or a different flavor of a candy pop and/or powder.

[0014] It would become obvious that the candy pop stick could be omitted and the candy pop could be mounted onto a candy holder means that extends from the end of the housing and which rotates with the rotating shaft.

[0015] With this invention children can have fun with their candy by spinning their lollipop with one or more flavors into a powdered candy, coating the outside of the lollipop and then spinning the combination of flavors into their mouth creating a fun way to eat their candy. When they are not eating their candy, the container holding the powder can be threaded or snapped back onto the lower end of the spin pop housing to prevent spills. Once the candy powder has been completely consumed, the spin pop could be used for consuming only the candy pop. Once either the candy pop and/or the candy powder has been completely consumed, the candy pop and/or the candy powder can be replaced by a new candy pop and/or candy powder.

[0016] The foregoing relates to preferred exemplary embodiments of the invention, it being understood that other variants and embodiments thereof are possible within the spirit and scope of the invention, the latter being defined by the appended claims.
