Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a hula loop, and more particularly to an adjustable hula loop for adjusting to various lengths according to the users' need.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typical hula loops comprise a number of balls threaded together with a thread or a cable, such that the balls may not be disengaged from the cable and such that the hula loop may not be adjusted to different lengths according to the users' need.

[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional hula loops.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an adjustable hula loop including a number of members that may be selectively secured and coupled together in order to form various lengths.

[0007] The other objective of the present invention is to provide an adjustable hula loop including a number of members each having one or more orifices formed therein for generating a sound while using.

[0008] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a hula loop comprising a plurality of members coupled together to form the hula loop and to engage onto a user. The members each includes a plurality of orifices formed through the members for generating sounds when the hula loop is operated.

[0009] The members each includes an outer peripheral portion having a pad attached thereto for engaging with the user.

[0010] The coupling means includes a plurality of rings and locks attached to the members respectively and engaged with each other for coupling the members together to form the hula loop.

[0011] The locks each includes a pivotal hook and a stud detachably secured together to detachably lock to the rings. The hooks each includes an aperture and a lock notch formed therein, the studs each includes a rod and a catch extended therefrom for engaging with the lock notch and the aperture of the hooks respectively.

[0012] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0013] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a hula loop in accordance with the present invention;

[0014] FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the hula loop;

[0015] FIG. 3 is an enlarged partial perspective view of the hula loop;

[0016] FIGS. 4, 5, 6, 7 are enlarged partial plane schematic views of the hula loop; and

[0017] FIG. 8 is a perspective view illustrating the operation of the hula loop.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0018] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-3, a hula loop in accordance with the present invention comprises a number of members 3, such as blocks or balls as shown in the drawings. The members 3 each includes a ring 31 provided or attached thereto, and a lock 32 for detachably securing or engaging with the ring 31, in order to couple the members 3 together and so as to form the hula loops having various lengths according to the users' need, as shown in FIGS. 1, 8. The members 3 each includes one or more orifices 35 formed therein and formed through the members 3 for allowing the air to flow through the members 3 and for generating a sound while exercising with the hula loop. The orifices 35 of the members 3 are not parallel to the hula loop, but intersected with or perpendicular to the hula loop, such that the air may flow into and out of both ends of the orifices 35 of the members 3 in order to generate various sounds. The members 3 each includes one or more pads 34 engaged in or attached to the outer peripheral portion thereof and made of rubber or the other soft materials, for engaging with the users and for allowing the members 3 to be softly and comfortably engaged with the users.

[0019] As shown in FIGS. 3-7, the locks 32 each includes a pivotal hook 321 having an aperture 322 and a lock notch 323 formed therein. The aperture 322 of the hook 321 includes a size or a diameter greater than that of the notch 323 of the hook 321. The locks 32 each further includes a stud 33 extended from or secured to the member 3 (FIGS. 3, 5), a rod 331 extended from the stud 33 and a catch 332 formed on the free end of the rod 331. The catch 332 has a size or a diameter greater than that of the rod 331 and about the same as that of the aperture 322 of the hook 321 for engaging into the aperture 322 of the hook 321 (FIG. 6). The rod 331 has a size or a diameter about the same as that of the lock notch 323 of the hook 321 for engaging in the lock notch 323 of the hook 321. The diameter or the size of the catch 332 is greater than that of the lock notch 323 of the hook 321 such that the hook 321 may be detachably secured or locked to the stud 33 and such that the lock 32 may be detachably secured or locked to the ring 31.

[0020] Referring next to FIG. 8, the members 3 may be selectively secured and coupled together with different numbers, in order to form various lengths, and in order to engage onto the body 4 or the arm 5 or the leg of the user. When the hula loop is exercised or rotated by the users, the air may flow through the orifices 35 of the members 3 in order to generate a sound. The pads 34 made of rubber or soft materials may softly and comfortably engage with the users.

[0021] Accordingly, the hula loop in accordance with the present invention includes a number of members that may be selectively secured and coupled together in order to form various lengths and that include one or more orifices formed therein for generating a sound while using.

[0022] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
