Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a LED signboard, and in particular to a heat-dissipating system for LED signboard, in which a first heat-dissipating module can rapidly conduct the heat generated by LED modules to a frame for heat dissipation. With this arrangement, not only the heat-dissipating area and the thermal-conducting efficiency are increased, but also a better heat-dissipating effect can be achieved.

2. Description of Prior Art

With the keen competition of the commercial market, signboards play an important role, so that many enterprises and companies use signboards to advertise their business policy and vision. It goes without saying that striking and glaring signboards attract more people's attention, and thus they can generate a more efficient and impressive effect. Therefore, many manufacturers attempt to design novel signboards.

Among all advertising medium, LED (light-emitting diodes) signboards can generate an excellent advertising effect. Since the LED signboard utilizes a dynamic picture instead of stationary patterns, the LED signboard exhibits more elasticity and changeability. Thus, the visual effect generated by the LED signboard has already exceeded all other advertising medium.

However, when the conventional LED signboard plays an advertisement for a long period of time, a plurality of LED modules in the LED signboard emits light and generates a huge amount of heat. If the heat is accumulated in the LED signboard without dissipating immediately, the brightness of the light emitted by the LED modules may become inconsistent. Even, the LED modules may suffer damage or break down, which makes the advertisement to be played intermittently and affects the advertising effect.

As a result, in order to keep the normal operation of the LED signboard for a long period of time, repairers have to watch the LED signboard periodically. This not only increase the labor cost, but also the life of the LED modules is shortened by the accumulated heat.

According to the above, the conventional LED signboard has problems of (1) poor heat-dissipating effect, (2) reduced life, (3) increased labor, and (4) inconsistent brightness.

In view of the above, it is an important issue for the present inventor and the manufacturers in this art to solve the problems in prior art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In order to solve the above problems, an objective of the present invention is to provide a heat-dissipating system for LED signboard, in which a first heat-dissipating module rapidly conducts the heat generated by a plurality of LED modules to a frame for heat dissipation, thereby achieving a better heat-dissipating efficiency.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The above-mentioned objectives, structural and functional characteristics of the present invention will be described with reference to the following preferred embodiments and the accompanying drawings.

Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 3. The present invention provides a heat-dissipating system for LED signboard. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the heat-dissipating system for LED signboard includes a frame 1 and at least one heat-dissipating module 3. The frame 1 has at least one heat-dissipating part 10 and a LED (light-emitting diode) module 12. The heat-dissipating part 10 is connected to the LED module 12. The frame 1 has a mounting surface 13 and a display surface 14. The display surface 14 is in flush with an end surface of the LED module 12 away from the heat-dissipating part 10. The mounting surface 13 corresponds to the display surface 14 to together define an accommodating space 15 in which the frame 1, the LED module 12 and the first heat-dissipating module 3 are received.

The heat-dissipating part 10 is made of metallic materials. In the present invention, the heat-dissipating part 10 is provided with a copper heat-dissipating piece 101 having good thermal conductivity (or heat-absorbing property) for absorbing heat rapidly. The copper heat-dissipating part 101 has a first end surface 1011 and a second end surface 1012. The first end surface 10111 is brought into tight contact with the LED module 12. The second end surface 1012 is connected to a heat pipe assembly 31 and faces the mounting surface 13 of the frame 1.

The first heat-dissipating module 3 has at least one heat pipe assembly 31 connected to the heat-dissipating part 10 and the frame 1. The heat absorbed by the heat-dissipating part 10 is rapidly conducted by the first heat-dissipating module 3 to the frame 1 for heat dissipation. The heat pipe assembly 31 has a plurality of heat pipes 310. The heat pipe 310 has a heat-absorbing end 313 and a heat-dissipating end 314. The heat-absorbing end 313 is connected to the second end surface 1012 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101. The heat-dissipating end 314 extends away from the heat-absorbing end 313 to connect to the frame 1, so that the heat generated by the LED module 12 can be rapidly conducted by the first end surface 1011 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 to the second end surface 1012. Then, the heat on the second end surface 1012 can be rapidly conducted to the heat-dissipating end 314 by the heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310, so that the heat received by the heat-dissipating end 314 can be rapidly conducted to the frame 1 for heat dissipation.

Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 3 again. The frame 1 comprises a first heat-diffusing portion 16, a second heat-diffusing portion 17, a third heat-diffusing portion 18, and a fourth heat-diffusing portion 19. Both ends of the first heat-diffusing portion 16 are connected to one end of the second heat-diffusing portion 17 and one end of the fourth heat-diffusing portion 19 respectively. Both ends of the third heat-diffusing portion 18 are connected to the other end of the second heat-diffusing portion 17 and the other end of the fourth heat-diffusing portion 19 respectively. Thus, these heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 are connected to each other to surround the accommodating space 15. In this way, the heat-dissipating end 314 of the heat pipe 310 conducts the heat to the frame 1, and the frame 1 transfers the heat to these heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 for heat dissipation. Since the total heat-dissipating area of these heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 is large, the heat generated by the LED module 12 can be dissipated rapidly.

When the LED signboard plays an advertisement for a long period of time, the LED module 12 emits light and generates heat continuously, so that the first end surface 1011 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 absorbs the heat generated by the LED module 12 and conducts the heat to the second end surface 1012. The heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310 absorbs the heat of the second end surface 1012, and then conducts the heat to the heat-dissipating end 314. The heat-dissipating end 314 rapidly conducts the received heat to the heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 of the frame 1. The heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 radiate the heat to the outside and exchange the heat with external air. In this way, the brightness of light emitted by the LED module 12 can be kept stable. Further, the thermal-conducting efficiency, the life and the heat-dissipating area can be increased to achieve an excellent heat-dissipating effect.

Please refer to FIGS. 4 to 9, which show another preferred embodiment of the present invention. The whole construction and connection between constituent elements are substantially the same as those in the previous embodiment, so that the redundant description is omitted for clarity. The difference between the present embodiment and the previous embodiment lies in that the heat pipe assembly 31 is connected to at least one second heat-dissipating module 5. The second heat-dissipating module 5 has a plurality of heat-dissipating fins 51 and a fan 52. The fan 52 is provided on one side opposite to the heat-dissipating fins 51. In the present embodiment, the connection between the second heat-dissipating module 5 and the heat pipe assembly 31 is carried out by two aspects, but it is not limited thereto. The connection between the second heat-dissipating module 5 and the heat pipe assembly 5 can be changed according to the environment in which the LED signboard is to be mounted.

In the first aspect, the front section of each heat pipe assembly 31 is connected to the heat-dissipating part 10, and its rear section is connected to the frame 1 and penetrates any side of the frame 1 to connect to the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5 (FIGS. 4, 5 and 6). That is, the heat-absorbing end 313 of each heat pipe 310 (i.e., a portion of the front section of the heat pipe assembly 31) is brought into contact with the second end surface 1012 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101. The heat-dissipating end 314 (i.e., a portion of the rear section of the heat pipe assembly 5) is connected to the frame 1 and penetrates any side of the frame 1 to connect to the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5.

In the second aspect, the front section of the heat pipe 310 of each heat pipe assembly 31 is connected to the heat-dissipating part 10, and its rear section is connected to the frame 1 to extend away from the frame 1 and penetrate the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5 (FIGS. 7, 8 and 9).

Please refer to FIGS. 4 to 9. The embodiments of the present invention will be described.

When the LED signboard plays an advertisement for a long period of time, the LED module 12 emits light and generates heat continuously. The first end surface 1011 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 conducts the heat of the LED module 12 to the second end surface 1012. The heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310 absorbs the heat of the second end surface 1012, and then conducts the heat to the heat-dissipating end 314. The heat-dissipating end 314 rapidly transfers the absorbed heat to the first, second, third, and fourth heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 and the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5. The first, second, third, and fourth heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 dissipate the heat to the outside by means of radiation. The heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5 not only dissipate the heat to the outside by means of radiation, but also utilize the fan 52 to take away the heat of the heat-dissipating fins 51. The heat-dissipating end 314 of the heat pipe 310 conducts the heat to the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5 for heat dissipation, and conducts a portion of the heat to the first, second, third and fourth heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 for heat dissipation. Therefore, the brightness of the light emitted by the LED module 12 can be kept stable while the thermal-conducting efficiency, the life and the heat-dissipating area can be increased. Thus, a better heat-dissipating efficiency can be achieved.

Please refer to FIGS. 3, 10 and 11, which show another preferred embodiment of the present invention. The heat-dissipating part 10 is provided with a plurality of heat-dissipating fins 102 for assisting in dissipating the heat. The heat-dissipating fins 102 are provided on the end surface of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 of the heat-dissipating part 10 opposite to the LED module 12. Briefly speaking, the heat-dissipating fins 102 are formed by extending from the second end surface 1012 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 toward the mounting surface 13. The heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310 is connected to the copper heat-dissipating piece 101, and transfers the heat absorbed by the heat-absorbing end 313 to the heat-dissipating fins 102 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 and the heat-dissipating end 314 for heat dissipation.

Please refer to FIGS. 6, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15, which show a further preferred embodiment of the present invention. The whole structure and the connection between the constituent elements are substantially the same as those of the previous embodiment, and thus the redundant description is omitted for clarity. The difference between the present embodiment and the previous embodiment lies in that the heat pipe assembly 31 is connected to at least one second heat-dissipating module 5. The second heat-dissipating module 5 has a plurality of heat-dissipating fins 51 and a fan 52. The fan 52 is provided on the side opposite to the heat-dissipating fins 51. In the present embodiment, the connection between the second heat-dissipating module 5 and the heat pipe assembly 31 is carried out by two aspects, but it is not limited thereto. In practice, the connection between the second heat-dissipating module 5 and the heat pipe assembly 31 can be changed according to the environment in which the LED signboard is to be mounted.

6, 12 and 13). That is, the heat-absorbing end 313 of each heat pipe 310 (i.e., a portion of the front section of the heat pipe assembly 31) is brought into contact with the second end surface 1012 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101. The heat-dissipating end 314 (i.e., a portion of the rear section of the heat pipe assembly 31) is connected to the frame 1 and penetrates any side of the frame 1 to connect to the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5.

In the second aspect, the front section of the heat pipe 310 of each heat pipe assembly 31 is connected to the heat-dissipating part 10, and its rear section is connected to the frame 1 and extends away from the frame 1 to penetrate the heat-dissipating fins 51 on the second heat-dissipating module 5 (FIGS. 9, 14 and 15).

Please refer to FIGS. 6, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15. The embodiments of the present invention will be described.

When the LED signboard plays an advertisement for a long period of time, the LED module 12 emits light and generates heat continuously. The first end surface 1011 of the copper heat-dissipating piece 101 conducts the heat of the LED module 12 to the second end surface 1012 and the heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310, so that the second end surface 1012 transfers a portion of the heat to the heat-dissipating fins 102 thereon for heat dissipation. The heat-absorbing end 313 of the heat pipe 310 absorbs most portion of the heat of the first end surface 1011, and conducts the heat to the heat-dissipating end 314. The heat-dissipating end 314 transfers most of the heat rapidly to the first, second, third, and fourth heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 of the frame 1 and the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5. The heat-dissipating end 314 of the heat pipe 310 conducts most of the heat to the heat-dissipating fins 51 of the second heat-dissipating module 5 for heat dissipation, and conducts the remaining portion of the heat to the first, second, third and fourth heat-diffusing portions 16, 17, 18, 19 for heat dissipation. Therefore, the brightness of the light emitted by the LED module 12 can be kept stable while the thermal-conducting efficiency, the life and the heat-dissipating area can be increased. Thus, a better heat-dissipating efficiency can be achieved.
