Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a game apparatus, and more particularly to a house advantage excluding game apparatus.

2. Description of the Related Art

In many casino game apparatuses, including Sic-bo, Roulette and Twenty-One-game apparatuses, a house advantage situation occurs under specific card or number outcomes. Under the house advantage situation, house wins all bets besides bets betted on the specific outcome.

For instance, in the Sic-bo game apparatus, the house advantage situation occurs when the result is three dice all showing the same number, termed a triple. Then, only players betting on this specific triple or any triple win, all others lose, even if the sum of the generated triple is the same as betted bet by players. To exemplify in more detail, when the Sic-bo game is proceeding and triple fives (5,5,5) is generated, players win only if they placed a bet on triple fives (5,5,5) or all triples, otherwise they lose, including those players who bet on winning outcomes following normal game logic such as a sum of 15 or a big sum. Similarly, in Roulette,” when a ball falls into the “0” or “00” pocket on the wheel, the house only pays out to that particular bet.

In Twenty-One, when the dealer and player are equal, the dealer wins, and when the dealer gets a black-jack or natural, all players loose.

However, the house advantage of current casino games makes players feel cheated and often leads to those players who lost abandoning the table.

The present invention provides a house advantage excluding game apparatus and method of implementing the same to obviate or mitigate the shortcomings of the conventional casino game apparatuses.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference to FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 10, a house advantage excluding game apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises a game server (10), multiple player terminals (20), a random number generator (RNG) (30, 30A, 30B) and may have multiple indicators (40).

The game server (10) runs a game program having a gaming status and a house advantage exclusion method.

The game program may be a Roulette game program, a Sic-bo game program, a Twenty-One game program or the like that can generate a house advantage situation.

The house advantage situation is one where most or all players lose when a specific outcome generated.

The player terminals (20) are electronically connected to the game server (10), display the gaming status related to the game program and each player terminal (20) corresponds to and accepts a player input to participate in the game program.

The random number generator (RNG) (30, 30A, 30B) is electronically connected to the game-server (10), is controlled by the game-server (10) to randomly generate a result and may be a ball drawing machine, an electrical dicing machine (30B), an electrically controlled wheel (30A) or a random number generating program.

When the game server (10) runs the Roulette game program, the RNG (30) may be the electrically controlled wheel (30A) having a zero or double-zero pocket. The wheel (30A) is controlled by the game server (10) to rotate clockwise and a ball is ejected around the wheel counterclockwise so when they both slow, the ball lands in a pocket of the wheel to show the result.

The indicators (40) are electronically connected to the game server (10), each indicator (40) corresponds to one of the player terminals (20) and is controlled by the game server (10) to output light to aware the player who seated in front of one player terminals (20). The indicators (40) may further output a winning noise to aware the players so that the players may be attention on the gaming status. The house advantage exclusion method has acts of: recognizing a house advantage (61), generating a house advantage exclusive player group (63), selecting at least one player and payout (64) and continuing gaming procedure (62).

In the act of recognizing a house advantage (61), the game server (10) determines whether the result of the RNG (30, 30B, 30A) is a predetermined house advantage situation. When the result is determined to be the house advantage situation, the game server (10) executes the act of generating a house advantage exclusive player group (63).

In the act of generating a house advantage exclusive player group (63), the game server (10) generates a house advantage exclusive player group being selected from all players according to a selection rule.

The selection rule may be all players placing a wager, number of wagers being placed, quantity of a single wager, total quantity wagered, specific bet items placed or the like and combinations thereof. The quantity of the single wager or total quantity wagered must be greater than a preset value (or a preset quantity). Take the all players placing a wager for an example, the game server (10) chooses those players who had place a wager in a proceeding gaming round to be members of the house advantage exclusive player group. In the same ways, the number of wagers being placed means the game server (10) chooses those players who had place wagers larger than a preset number. For instance, one player is picked by the game server (10) if he had place over the preset number (e.g. 30 USD) wagers at the proceeding gaming round. The quantity of a single wager means the game server (10) chooses players into the house advantage player group if the players had place one wager on one specific bet item and the placed wager is larger than a preset quantity (e.g. 20 USD). The specific bet items placed means the game server (10) chooses the player into the house advantage player group if they had place wager on one or some specific bet items. The specific bet items may be different according the game program. For instance, when the game program is the Sic-bo game program, the specific bet items used for screening the players to be the members of the house advantage player group may comprise triples, a correctly selected big or small value corresponding to a sum of the triple result or the like.

With further reference to FIGS. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, when the game server (10) runs the-Sic-bo game program, the RNG (30) is the electrical dicing machine (30B). An odds tables shown in FIGS. 5, 6 and 7 is selected, may be by a croupier, to start the game program. The odds table defines relationships between bet items and odds. The bet items may comprise Big, Small, sum of numbers (4 to 17), specific singles, specific doubles, all triples, specific triples or the like.

The electrical dicing machine (30B) is controlled by the game server (10) to generate the result. Each player operates a corresponding player terminal (20) to place bets on preferred bet items included in the betting table shown on the player terminal (20)

When the result is a triple, (1, 1, 1), (2, 2, 2), (3, 3, 3), (4, 4, 4), (5, 5, 5) or (6, 6, 6), only players who selected that specific triple or all triples are winners. Other players whose bet would win are losers, these include people betting on a correct corresponding big or small value, a different specific triple, specific doubles, and a specific sum equal to this triple. However, these losers, and possibly other losers, may be selected by the selection rule and continue playing, reducing disappointment.

In the act of selecting at least one player and payout (64), the game server (10) selects at least one player from the exclusive player group to pay out an extra bonus according to a probability of selection and pay an extra bonus. The indicators (40) are controlled by the game server (10) to be sequentially actuated and once the players to receive the bonus are selected, the indicators (40) are continuously actuated corresponding to these players. This demonstrates to the players that the house does not have an advantage and house advantage excluding game apparatuses are more fair than conventional game apparatuses.

For instance, the probability of selection for each player winning the extra bonus is 0.5625 which is shown on FIG. 8. With further reference to FIG. 9, the extra bonus may be calculated at a specific rate corresponding to a total amount wagered by selected players. The specific rate may be randomly selected from predetermined bonus rates by the game server (10), examples of which are shown in FIG. 9. When the specific rate is defined as 20% and total wagers of the selected player is 10,000, the extra bonus is 2,000.

In the act of continuing gaming procedure (62), the game server (10) continues normal gaming procedures such as pay out to winners, start a new round, accept bets and the like.

As described above, the house advantage excluding game apparatus in accordance with the present invention provides players with a second chance to win when house advantage situations occur. The house advantage situation is partially or wholly removed by the house advantage exclusion method and players are further stimulated to play by the extra bonus and receive enjoyment from this lucky round.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
