Abstract:
A protector to cover part of the roof, the windshield and lateral windows of vehicles. A covering preferably manufacture of sun protector cloth, forms a principal body (1) that covers part of the roof and the windshield. Lateral sections (4) that start at the lateral upper ends of said principal body. They are of greater diameter, more specifically, at the principal lower vertex, extending or projecting curved sections (5) which are joined vertically by means of a velcro closure (6). A monolithic body is formed which allows the covering of the lateral windows (7) and thereby avoiding the penetration of the sun's rays.

Claims:
1. A protector for covering part of the roof, the windshield and lateral windows of a vehicle, comprises a principal body for covering part of the roof and the windshield of the vehicle, a lateral sections (4) that start at the lateral ends of the principal body, extending or projecting curved sections joined vertically by a closure with the lateral sections thereby forming a body for covering of the lateral windows.

2. A protector in accordance with claim 1, including a safety belt which is fixed or set in place at least inside and/or outside of the vehicle.

3. A protector in accordance with claim 1, wherein the lateral sections are for introduction within the interior of the vehicle doors, setting whereby the covering is occurred when the doors are closed.

4. A protector as claimed in claim 1, formed by a covering manufactured of a sun protector cloth.

5. A protector as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lateral ends are of greater diameter, more specifically, at the principal lower vertex.

6. A protector as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lateral ends are connected at the upper ends of the principal body.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

Solar protectors for vehicle windshields present an obvious inconvenience, because of a plate that does not cover the totality of vehicle windshields. The invention is directed to a protector, which covers the totality of the windshield surface from the roof of the vehicle and also covers the totality of the front lateral windows.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,915,399 discloses a multipurpose cover for a vehicle mainly including a roof sunshade for covering the roof of the vehicle. There are four screen-like knitting fabrics for separately covering the windshield, the rear window, and side windows of the vehicle. Four side sunshades cover a front, a rear, and two side parts of vehicle, and four roll-up sunshades for covering the four screen-like knitting fabrics. These sunshades or fabrics are sewed together to form a complete cover for vehicle. The roll-up sunshades are provided at their two lateral sides with zippers and at lower edges with hooks connected to the roll-up sunshades by means of elastic bands. Two of the screen-like knitting fabrics covering two sides of the vehicle and their corresponding side sunshades have a vertical split at their middle portion. Zippers are sewed to these splits to facilitate opening of doors via the splits. The cover for car serves to block sunlight and snow, and keep out mosquitoes and flies.

U.S. Pat. No. 4,476,302 refers to a rain and sun cover for a vehicle that is attached at one end to a roller, and at the other end to the vehicle door. When the door is opened the cover will unroll and provides a sheltered area so a person may close an umbrella and enter the vehicle without getting wet.

The upper and lower lateral sections are situated towards the interior of the front lateral doors. The solar protectors for vehicles previously mentioned, while meeting the objective for which they were manufactured, present some disadvantages, such as the complexity in installing them, removing them, due to their structural characteristics as well as due to their size. These solar protectors must regularly remain in place permanently or for prolonged periods of time. Some do not cover the vehicle's lateral windows and when installed they do not cover the totality of the vehicle's windshield.

These systems are not as user friendly and as convenient as possible. The invention seeks to overcome the limitations of the prior art.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The vehicle protector of the invention is formed by a principal laminated body preferably manufactured in cloth. The underside presents a painted surface that repels the sun, and the body covers the body part of the roof and the frontal surface of the vehicle's windshield. Likewise, in the upper area of lesser diameter, there are lateral sections that are foldable and which rejoined vertically with a velcro type closure to other sections that extend at the lower area of greater diameter of the principal laminated body.

This allows the covering of front lateral windows of the vehicle.

As such, the central and principal piece is located over the roof of the vehicle and extends toward the frontal area over and within the windshield.

In order to solve the existing inconvenience of present solar vehicle protectors, the invention provides a solar protector or cover, taking into account the ease with which the user can place the protector. At the same time the vehicle's protection is improved against sun and also climate changes, such as snow fall or frost that occur in countries or regions with cold climates.

In order to better understand the characteristics of the new vehicle protector, the protector is described in accordance to the drawings that form an integral part of the invention, wherein:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 5, the present invention includes a protector to cover part of the roof, the windshield and the lateral windows of a vehicle. A covering preferably is made sun resistant cloth, with a principal body (1) that covers part of the roof (2) and the windshield (3) of the vehicle. The lateral sections (4) start at the lateral ends of the upper area which are of a lesser diameter than the principal body (1).

Likewise, at the area of greater diameter, more specifically at the lower vertex, curved sections (5) extend therefrom. These are joined vertically and laterally by means of velcro or other closures (6) with the upper lateral sections (4). A monolithic body is formed which permits the covering of the lateral windows (7) thereby avoiding the penetration of the sun's rays through the sides of the vehicle.

The vehicle protector also presents a safety belt or holder (8), which results in a tip-top system. The safety belt (8) is located on the reverse of the principal body (1). It can be installed inside and outside of the vehicle. This secures the totality of the covering and assists in the prevention of possible theft. Also the lateral ends can extend to the inside of a vehicle door, such that when the doors are closed there is a secure arrangement.

Although specific embodiments of the invention have been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of this invention.
