Abstract:
The present invention relates to an oval track exerciser. Two cranks are pivotably connected a cross rod between two upright supports on a base. A rail is pivotably connected to the bottom end of the respective cranks while a tread connecting rod is pivotably connected to the top end of the respective cranks. Besides, Each of the tread connecting rods is pivotably connected to a movable tread. Meanwhile, the movable treads are slidably mounted on the rail. A locating frame is disposed at the front end of the base, and a resistance device is mounted on the locating frame. Thus, a proper exercise resistance is created by means that two pull ropes are connected to the respective cranks. In addition, a driving device is installed under the base, and a transmission spindle thereof drives a moving connecting rod for a forward and backward movement so that the height of both rails can be raised or lowered to change the exercising slope.

Claims:

What is claimed is:



1. An oval track exerciser comprising: two cranks pivotably connected a cross rod between two upright supports on a base; a rail pivotably connected to the bottom end of said respective cranks while a tread connecting rod is pivotably connected to the top end of said respective cranks; a movable tread pivotably connected with each of said tread connecting rods while said movable treads are slidably mounted on said rail for sliding motion; and an end support pivotably connected to the top end at either side of said base so that it can be pivotably connected with the end of said rail.

An oval track exerciser comprising: two cranks pivotably connected a cross rod between two upright supports on a base; a rail pivotably connected to the bottom end of said respective cranks while a tread connecting rod is pivotably connected to the top end of said respective cranks; a movable tread pivotably connected with each of said tread connecting rods while said movable treads are slidably mounted on said rail for sliding motion; a locating frame disposed at the front end of said base while a resistance device is mounted on said locating frame so that a proper exercise resistance is created by means that two pull ropes are connected to said respective cranks; an end support pivotably connected to the top end at either side of said base so that it can be pivotably connected with the end of said rail; and a driving device installed under said base and having a transmission spindle which drives a moving connecting rod for a forward and backward movement while the other end of said moving connecting rod is pivotably connected to said rail so that the height of both rails can be raised or lowered to change the exercising slope.

An oval track exerciser comprising: two cranks pivotably connected a cross rod between two upright supports on a base; a rail pivotably connected to the bottom end of said respective cranks while a tread connecting rod is pivotably connected to the top end of said respective cranks; a movable tread pivotably connected with each of said tread connecting rods while said movable treads are slidably mounted on said rail for sliding motion; a lifting device fitted to the bottom of said rails in order to create a proper exercise resistance; an end support pivotably connected to the top end at either side of said base so that it can be pivotably connected with the end of said rail; and a driving device installed under said base and having a transmission spindle which drives a moving connecting rod for a forward and backward movement while the other end of said moving connecting rod is pivotably connected to said rail so that the height of both rails can be raised or lowered to change the exercising slope.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to an oval track exerciser, and more particularly, to a device which provides a more comfortable exercise and a proper exercise resistance. Meanwhile, the exercise slope can be changed at any time to enhance the exercise fun.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] All of the conventional oval track exercisers make use of a circular rotating disk which is operated in combination with the treading movement of a crank and a swing arm. This is disclosed by the U.S. Pat. No. 5,759,136, named by “Exerciser having movable foot supports”. It's apparent from FIGS. 3 and 4 of this prior art that an interference will be created when the relevant elements are situated at the horizontal intersection angle through the circular motion at the end of two tread rods. Thus, a stop point during the exercise session will be created. Although this point lasts only for a very short time, it will influence the smoothness during the exercise session.

[0005] Moreover, the arrangement position and angle of both tread rod of this prior art are fixed so that the exercising slope can't be achieved.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] It is a primary object of the present invention to remove the above-mentioned drawbacks and to provide an oval track exerciser through which an exercising dead angle can be eliminated while a crank is utilized in combination with its upward and downward movement for achieving the expected oval exercising track. Moreover, the exercising smoothness can be effectively improved.

[0007] It is another object of the present invention to provide an oval track exerciser through which the exercising slope is changeable to simulate a real exercise environment and to enhance the exercising fun.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0013] First of all, referring to FIG. 1 and 2, a preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown. Two cranks 16 are pivotably connected a cross rod 14 between two upright supports 12 on a base 10. A rail 18 is pivotably connected to the bottom end of the respective cranks 16 while a tread connecting rod 20 is pivotably connected to the top end of the respective cranks 16. Besides, Each of the tread connecting rods 20 is pivotably connected to a movable tread 22. Meanwhile, the movable treads 22 are slidably mounted on the rail 18. A locating frame 24 is disposed at the front end of the base 10, and a resistance device 26 is mounted on the locating frame 24. Thus, a proper exercise resistance is created by means that two pull ropes 28 are connected to the respective cranks 16.

[0014] Furthermore, an end support 11 is pivotably connected to the top end at either side of the base 10 so that it can be pivotably connected with the end of the rail 18. in addition, a driving device 30 is installed under the base 10, and a transmission spindle 32 thereof drives a moving connecting rod 34 for a forward and backward movement. The other end of the moving connecting rod 34 is pivotably connected to the rail 18 so that the height of both rails 18 can be raised or lowered to change the exercising slope (see FIGS. 3 and 4).

[0015] In order to smooth the sliding motion of the moving connecting rod 34, a roller 36 is fitted to both sides thereof while the roller 36 is movable along a sliding groove 13.

[0016] Also, a lifting device like a pneumatic cylinder, a hydraulic cylinder or a spring (not shown) can be fitted to the bottom of the rail 18 in order to create a proper exercise resistance.

[0017] Many changes and modifications in the above-described embodiments of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claim.
