Abstract:
A flush tank includes a water housing having an outlet port, a device for controlling the inward flow of the water into the housing, a valve received in the housing for selectively engaging with the outlet port, a link coupled to the valve for disengaging the valve from the outlet port by such as a lever, and a float attached to the link for controlling the disengagement of the valve from the outlet port. A stop is adjustably secured to the link for adjusting or limiting the upward movement of the float relative to the link and for adjusting the outward flow of the flush water.

Claims:

I claim:



1. A flush tank comprising: a housing for receiving flushing water and including an outlet port, means for controlling an inward flow of the water into said housing, a valve received in said housing for selectively engaging with and blocking said outlet port, a link coupled to said valve for disengaging said valve from said outlet port, means for actuating said link to disengage said valve from said outlet port, and a float attached to said link for controlling the disengagement of said valve from said outlet port.

2. The flush tank according to claim 1 further comprising means for adjusting said float relative to said link.

3. The flush tank according to claim 2, wherein said adjusting means includes a stop engaged on said link for limiting an upward movement of said float relative to said link.

4. The flush tank according to claim 1 further comprising a weight selectively attached to said link.

5. The flush tank according to claim 1, wherein said valve includes a casing provided therein, said flush tank further includes a weight received in said casing of said valve.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a flush tank, and more particularly to a flush tank having a structure or a device for adjusting the outward flow of the flush water for the flush tank.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typical flush tanks comprise an outlet port formed in the bottom of a tank, a valve pivotally secured to the tank for selectively engaging with the outlet port and for enclosing the outlet port, and a float engaged with the valve for supporting the valve at the opening position when the valve is opened by an actuator lever. The float may be disengaged from the valve only when the water level in the tank is lowered to the lowest position when the predetermined quantity of the flush water is fully flowing out of the flush tank. The outward flow of the flush water may not be adjusted.

[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional flush tanks.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a flush tank including a device for adjusting the outward flow of the flush water for the flush tank.

[0007] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a flush tank comprising a housing for receiving flushing water and including an outlet port, means for controlling an inward flow of the water into the housing, a valve received in the housing for selectively engaging with and blocking the outlet port, a link coupled to the valve for disengaging the valve from the outlet port, means for actuating the link to disengage the valve from the outlet port, and a float attached to the link for controlling the disengagement of the valve from the outlet port.

[0008] A device is further provided for adjusting the float relative to the link and includes a stop engaged on the link for limiting an upward movement of the float relative to the link.

[0009] A weight is selectively attached to the link. The valve includes a casing provided therein, the weight may be selectively received in the casing of the valve.

[0010] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0015] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a flush tank in accordance with the present invention comprises a housing 80 for receiving the flush water 82 and including an outlet portion 81 formed or provided in the bottom thereof. A valve 10 includes one or more arms 12 extended therefrom for pivotally securing to the housing 80 with a pivot shaft is or the like, for allowing the valve 10 to be rotated relative to the housing 80 and to be moved to engage with and disengage from the outlet port 81. A tube 9 is secured in the housing 80 and coupled to the water reservoir. A control device 82 is disposed on top of the tube 9, and a float 83 is coupled to the control device 82 for actuating the control device 82 to control the inward flow of the water into the housing 80. A lever 7 has one end pivotally secured to the housing 80 with a pivot pin 71, and a knob 6 secured to the lever 7 for rotating the lever 7 about the pivot pin 71. The other end of the lever 7 is coupled to the ear 13 of the valve 10 with a link 6, such as a chain or the like for actuating and operating the valve 10. The above described structure of the flush tank is typical and will not be described in further details.

[0016] The flush water adjusting device for the flush tank includes another float 3 having an aperture 31 formed therein for threading and receiving the link 5, and for allowing the float 3 to be moved up and down along the link 5 by the water 82 received in the housing 80. A stop 4, such as a clip or the like, is engaged or secured to the link 5 and located above the float 3 for engaging with the float 3 and for limiting the floating or the upward moving of the float 3 along the link 5, and thus for determining the actuating or the opening and the enclosing of the valve 10 against the outlet port 81. The stop 4 may be easily adjusted along or relative to the link 5 for adjusting the position of the float 3 relative to the link 5 and for adjusting the outward flow of the flush water through the outlet port 81. A weight 2 includes an orifice 21 formed therein for threading and receiving the link 5. The weight 2 may be selectively engaged onto the link 5 in order to determine the size or the volume of the float 3 or to determine the position of the float 3 relative to the link 5.

[0017] Referring next to FIG. 5, the valve 10 may includes a casing 11 provided therein for selectively receiving the weight 8 or the like.

[0018] In operation, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the valve 10 may be disengaged from the outlet port 81 (FIG. 2) by the lever 7 for allowing the water 82 to flow out of the housing 80 via the port 81 for flushing purposes. The valve 10 may be maintained in the open position relative to the outlet port 81 by the float 3. When the water S2 is lowered to a suitable water level, the float 3 may be lowered to lower the valve 10 to engage with and to enclose the outlet port 81 (FIG. 1). The position of the float 3 relative to the link 5 may be adjusted by the stop 4 which may be easily changed to the other position relative to the link 5. The engagement of the weight 2, 8 to the link 5 or to the valve 10 is optional.

[0019] Accordingly, the flush tank in accordance with the present invention includes a device for adjusting the outward flow of the flush water for the flush tank.

[0020] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
