Abstract:
A multi-face putting stroke trainer has multiple striking faces. Each striking face is parallel to the shaft so that any selected striking face is perpendicular to the direction of the stroke. Any of the striking face may be selected for stroke training depending on the skill level for an individual.

What is claimed is:



1. A golf putter-stroke trainer comprising A trainer head, the trainer head comprising a plurality of striking faces The striking faces varying in size

2. The golf putter-stroke trainer according to claim 1 wherein the trainer head is attached to a shaft

3. The golf putter-stroke trainer according to claim 1 wherein the trainer head includes any metal or composite material

4. The shaft according to claim 2 having a grip at its distal end

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0002] This invention relates generally to the golf putting stroke trainer.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The game of golf is generally known and has been around for many generations. It is a game of accuracy, wherein the accuracy is based on the lowest score possible. The score is determined by the number of strokes required to place a golf ball in a cup which resides on a putting green.

[0004] There are many factors involved in reducing a golfer's score. One of the biggest factors involved in reducing the score is the use of proper clubs, particularly the golf putter. Statistically, it is known that 42 percent of the total strokes come from putting. Although players even have a putter that is perfectly set up, there are many other factors that can cause a player to miss a putt. Of course, mis-reading a break is one of the dominont factors in missing the hole. However, another dominent factors in missing the hole is not having a good stroke. Without a proper stroke, a putter head can move off track or tilte during the back stroke or down stroke. Consequently, as putter's the striking surface strikes the ball, the ball is contacted outside of the sweet spot of the putter's striking surface or the putter's striking surface is not perpendicular to the aimed direction. Although the width of the putter's striking surface is usually two to three times wider than the diameter of the golf ball, the width of the sweet spot area of the putter's striking surface is much shorter than the diameter of the golf ball. If the sweet spot is missed during the contact of the golf ball, the putter head (and striking surface) is tilted and the ball's initial rolling direction is not same as the original aim. Therefore, striking the golf ball with the sweet spot area of the putter's striking surface is necessary to have a golf ball roll toward the intended target. Striking the golf ball with the sweet spot of the putter is one of hardest skills to gain without a special training aid. Novices or even average handicap golfers have many difficulties in gaining the proper putting stroke because there are no good putting stroke trainers on the market today. Training is the way to gain the skill. Like any other training, stroke training must have several steps to reach the top level of skill.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] With the forgoing in mind, the present invention provides a simple stroke trainer to improve the putting stroke from the beginner to the top level player. Then it is desirable to have a putting stroke trainer that has multi-striking surfaces, with each striking surface a different size in area. For example, a stroke trainer has a striking surface 1, striking surface 2, striking surface 3 and striking surface 4. Striking surface 1 has the largest striking surface area and striking surface 4 has the smallest striking surface area. All striking faces are parallel to the shaft which insure that the striking face is perpendicular to the direction of the stroke. The bottom (sole) of the stroke trainer head which is the opposite side of the shaft hole has a spherical curveture so that it would not provide a sharp toe or heel edge. Otherwise a sharp edge could scraches the putting surface accidentally. With this stroke trainer, beginners could start to use striking surface 1 as the first step of stroke training. As their stroke skills improve, they could use striking surface 2, striking surface 3 and striking surface 4. If he or she can use striking surface 4 comfortably, then his or her skill in putting stroke will have reached a professional level and will eventually save many strokes when actually playing.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Besides addressing the matters and problems above, the main objects of the present invention are:

[0007] (a) to provide a multi-striking surface stroke trainer so that an individual can select the striking surface to achive the level of stroke training.

[0008] (b) to provide a stroke trainer to improve their stroke step by step.

[0009] (c) to improve a golfer's putting accuracy and consistency through proper training.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

[0013] A multi-striking surface stroke trainer in this description has more than two striking surfaces. Although the total number of striking surfaces is not limited, only the four striking surface putting stroke trainer is described in this invention as an example.

[0014] FIGS. 1-3 illustrate the preferred embodiment of the present invention. A multi-striking surface stroke trainer 100 comprises multi-striking surface stroke trainer head 10, a shaft 20 and a grip 30. Head 10 has first striking surface 1, second striking surface 2, third striking surface 3 and fourth striking surface 4 around the shafting hole 5. The preferred position of the shafting hole 5 is such that the imaginary extended center line of the shafting hole 5 meet the center of the gravity of the head 10. The shafting hole 5 is parallel to all four striking surface 1, 2, 3, and 4. All four striking surface 1, 2, 3 and 4 are perpendicular to the one imaginary bottom plane 8. Bottom surface 6 has spherical shape curvature.

[0015] The weight of the multi-striking surface stroke trainer head 10 is preferred to have a similar weight of the conventional putter head which is between 310 gram and 340 grams approximately. The first striking surface I has the largest flat area. The second striking surface 2 has the second largest flat area. The s third striking surface 3 has the third largest flat area. The fourth striking surface 4 has the smallest flat area.

[0016] The actual size of the striking faces 1, 2, 3 and 4 are not a limiting factor of this invention. However, largest striking face 1 is much larger than the io smallest striking face 4. The spirit of the present invention being limited solely by the appended claims.
