90 Min Live Patient Exam, Treatment Planning and Patient
Presentation:
Real world examples of how each of these leaders in dentistry apply
their biometric diagnostic aids every day in their practice! Each
clinician has been selected because he is willing to meet a completely
new patient LIVE on stage, review their history, BioPAK, and perform his
own clinical exam. He will then reach his diagnosis, and discuss
treatment options with the patient.
Each clinician will see a completely new patient with different
chief complaints. This is an opportunity for you to see the BioPAK used
in an NM practice, a CR practice, a Pain Practice and a Restorative
practice all in one meeting! Nothing will be scripted or rehearsed.
Thursday
Dr. Dennis Marangos

As a founding member and past president of the Canadian Chapter of
the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, Dr. Marangos has created a
practice where he performs general restorative dentistry 4 days a week
and limits his Wednesdays to the diagnosis and treatment of TMD and
craniofacial pain. His TMD practice often refers treated patients to his
restorative practice, but due to a clear and comprehensive exam, his
restorative practice also refers to his TMD practice as well. He will
kick off this new and exciting live program with his comprehensive
craniofacial exam, diagnosis and treatment plan.
Dr. Michael Melkers

organizations and associations dedicated to the pursuit of providing
patients with extraordinary care.
Dr. Jim Beck
[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]
Dr. Jim Beck treats patients with chronic upper quarter pain
patterns. The pain model developed by Ur. Beck is centered upon the
initial decision as to whether the patient has a primary intracapsular
or extracapsular disorder. Joint Vibration Analysis,
Electrognathography, and Electromyography are all used in combination
with the comprehensive history, the clinical examination, and joint and
cervical radiographs to make that very essential determination.
Information gained from the BioPAK is also essential in monitoring
patient's progress and providing us with outcome-based objective
data. Cases are ultimately finished with computerized occlusal diagnosis
and treatment modalities (T-Scan).

The Diagnostically Driven TMD/Sleep Practice
Dr. Shirazi runs the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre of Conejo Valley,
CA, that is limited to the treatment of TMD, craniofacial pain, sleep
Breathing disorders, and craniomandibular orthopedics & orthodontics
utilizing electrodiagnostics and 3D imaging to quantify before and after
results. His practice is part of the TMU and Sleep Therapy Centre
international family, one of 16 throughout the world, and is located in
the Beautiful hills of Thousand Oaks, CA. He will show you haw he runs a
practice limited to TMD & Sleep using modalities to quantify
different types of disc displacements, to treat the TMD patient and
evaluate the final occlusion. He will also cover his treatment efficacy
in comparison to hospital devices.
Laser Therapy for Pain, Inflammation and Healing
As the Founder and President of ASA Laser in Arcugnana, Italy,
Lucia Zaghetto has over 35 years of experience in using laser energy to
relieve pain, reduce inflammation and promote the healing process. His
life's work and research has resulted in the MLS (Multi-wave Locked
System) line of lasers for just this purpose. Mr. Zaghetto will cover
the science of MLS as well as haw the dental practitioner can use laser
technology in their everyday practice.
Orthodontic case finishing in the 21 st Century.
Just like a full mouth reconstruction, every orthodontic case has
the capacity to change the vertical, lateral, and A/P relationship of
the maxilla to the mandible, as well as creating a completely new
occlusion. Dr. Puksa will teach you haw to take an approach that
combines esthetic concerns, with TMJ health and occlusal stability in
finalizing an orthodontic case. You will learn how to make sure the
teeth, muscles and joints are ready to support the orthodontic changes
you or your orthodontist have made.
Getting 110% out of your EMG
Tim Adams, DDS Masticatary Muscle function and its effect on
Cranial Bones Surface Electromyography is a very valuable tool and can
help show us where the patient has been and where they are going.
Resting EMG's can show us a lot about how the mandible is
posturing. We will go over considerations for diagnosis and treatment of
hyperactive muscle groups. When and how to treat will Be discussed. Dr.
Tim Adams is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry,
where he taught Clinical Dentistry far five years. He went on to Become
a clinical instructor at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental
Studies (LVI) from 1997 to 2002 and then a clinical director from 2002
to 2005.

diagnostics to digital restorations. His mastery in applied technology
to accurately diagnose patients, positions him in the narrow yet
privileged percentage of doctors one step ahead of the future of implant
dentistry. Dr. Patel's knowledge, energy and passion for elevating
the standard for biometric dentistry engineered to individual patient
physiology is now in high demand.
Understanding the Piper Disk Classification with JVA & MRI
Utilizing the Piper Disc Classification, representative JVAs will
be shown of each Piper stage. The corresponding MRI will also be
reviewed, along with the clinical implications. You will learn the
functional anatomy of the TMJ, the Piper Disc Classification System, how
to read MRI scans, and how to obtain improved diagnostic quality JVA
recordings. He will go further to discuss the clinical implications of
restorative treatment of patients who have a certain staging but are
stable, vs. patients that have the same stage TMJ but are getting worse.
