A product inventory management system includes a reception processing section (11) for receiving a product, an inventory section (12) for storing the product, a shipment processing section (13) for performing shipment of the product, and delivery judgment means (14) for judging the product destination. According to the number of products in the inventory section (12), an ordered manufacturing plan already having a delivery destination decided, a non-ordered manufacturing plan not yet having a delivery destination, and the specified product delivery date, the delivery judgment means (14) judges whether the product received in the reception processing section (11) is moved to the inventory section (12) or to the shipment processing section (13) and whether the product in the inventory section (12) is to be moved to the shipment processing section (13). Thus, it is possible to prevent the period during which a product is stored in the inventory section from exceeding the shipment enabled period and minimize the cost required for movement of the product including placing into and taking out of the inventory section.
