BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an improved all-purpose bracket for assembling sanitary fittings on walls.
This improved bracket has been specifically designed for locking on a wall sanitary bowls (WC) and for properly assembling the water box or hopper closet thereof.
Brackets for supporting hopper closets are already known: however, these brackets are exclusively designed for a specific type of a hopper closet as specifically designed by the maker thereof.
Since each manufacturing shop makes different hopper closets, the mentioned brackets cannot be interexchanged and, accordingly, problems can occur if a bracket for a particular hopper closet would not be easily available. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to provide such a all-purpose bracket which can be used for any types of hopper closets as commercially available.
Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the invention is to provide such a all-purpose or universal bracket, which allows the hopper closet to be easily and quickly assembled.
Another object of the invention is to provide such a all-purpose or universal bracket having a very low cost and which, therefore, is very advantageous for the user.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide such a all purpose bracket which is very reliable in operation and has a long duration.
According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by an improved multi-purpose bracket for mounting a sanitary fitting on a wall, characterized in that said bracket comprises two longitudinal elements which are slidably supported on a base plate or section member, comprising an adjustable supporting element for supporting a sanitary fitting, said longitudinal element being slidably supported and adapted to be locked on said base section member to fit the width dimension of the hopper closet to be supported thereby. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent hereinafter from the following detailed disclosure of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment of the invention, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative, but not limitative, example in the accompanying drawings, where: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the bracket according to the invention; Figure 2 is a front elevation view of the bracket according to the invention; Figure 3 is a side elevation view of the bracket, and specifically show a recessed assembling of the sanitary fitting branch; Figure 4 is a side elevation view of the bracket, and showing a frontward projecting assembly of the sanitary fitting branch;
Figure 5 is a top plan view of a broad hopper closet mounted on the supporting bracket according to the invention; and Figure 6 is a further top plan view of a narrow or necked hopper closet, assembled on the supporting bracket according to the invention. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
With reference to the number references of the above mentioned figures, the improved all-purpose or universal bracket according to the present invention, which has been generally indicated by the reference number 1, comprises two longitudinal elements, respectively indicated by the reference numbers 2 and 3, and slidably supported on a base or supporting plate or section member 4, comprising a supporting element proper 5 for supporting and adjusting the outlet branch of the sanitary fitting, threaded portions 12 including nuts and washers associated with an envelope 13 for supporting the sanitary fitting.
Said supporting element 5 can be firmly connected to a wall by using locking wings 11, in cooperation both with locking screw and plug assemblies, and with concrete mortar.
The longitudinal elements 2 and 3, in particular, can be slidably driven on the base or supporting section member 4, to fit the width size or dimension of the hopper closet 6 to be supported.
After having properly adjusted the mentioned width dimension, the longitudinal elements are locked, for example by locking screws, on the base or supporting section member.
Since available hopper closets can have different thicknesses, the longitudinal elements 2 and 3, comprising U-shape section members, further include nail elements 7, formed as a single piece in said longitudinal elements and being adapted to be elastically deformed, thereby restraining hopper closets of different thicknesses up to a maximum thickness, depending on the width of the U-shape section member forming said longitudinal elements.
Figures 5 and 6 clearly show the operation manner by which the mentioned nail elements 7 operate for restraining or supporting different-thickness hopper closets 6.
In particular, the supporting element 5 is designed for locking the curved portion of the bowl, the so called "branch" and generally indicated by the reference number 8.
To that end, the supporting element 5 can be longitudinally slidably driven with respect to the base section member 4, so as to engage a bridging element 9 for locking the sanitary fitting branch 8.
Such an approach allows to easily lock branches having different configurations and diameters, as is shown in figures 3 and 4.
Figures 3 and 4, in particular, show two different positions of the sanitary fitting branch, respectively a recessed position and a frontward projecting position, with respect to the position of the base section member 4.
The locking wings, as preliminarily opened, operate to lock, both by screw and plug assemblies and by mortar, the supporting element to the wall.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, it is also possible to adjust the assembling height of the hopper closet 6, and consequently that of the controlling bush-button rigid therewith, by adjusting the length of the supplying pipe 10.
The latter, in particular, can be cut through at its top portion for adjusting at will the height of the hopper closet 6.
It has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects.
In fact, the invention provides a all-purpose or universal bracket designed for mounting any hopper closet and which can be easily fitted to any desired bowl branch as at present commercially available.
Moreover, the improved bracket according to the invention allows to easily and quickly adjust the height of the hopper closet and, accordingly, of the controlling push-button thereof.
In practicing the invention, the used materials, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any, depending on requirements and the status of the art.
