Abstract:
A game to be played by two to six persons using a game board having a center panel representing a tackle box containing different lures on a representation of a lake with stumps, lily pads, muddy shallows, buoys and a boat dock. A continuous series of representations of a boat extends around the periphery of the lake, each representation being labeled to indicate the next action a player is to take. A die and 76 cards, 20 fisherman's luck cards and 56 bass cards, as well as the representations of a boat, determine the action to be taken by a token used by a player. There are 6 identifying tokens in the form of anchors of different colors, the tokens being moved from boat to boat as indicated by the number on the die. When the die is cast and the token is moved accordingly, the boat and/or fisherman's luck card indicate the next action to be taken by a player. When a token lands on a boat labeled "cast," the player picks a lure from the tackle box. He then draws a bass card on which is a picture of a bass with its weight; near the mouth of the bass is a lure and if it corresponds with the one the player has picked, he keeps that fish as his catch. The player catching the most fish or the most weight of fish within a time limit wins the game.

Claims:
I claim

1. A board fishing game comprising a board representing a lake having a continuous peripheral series of representations of a boat showing sequential positions of the boat and bearing indicia designating actions to take when a token lands on certain representations, and a center panel representing a tackle box containing representations of different lures, a plurality of identifying tokens, one representing each player, a die showing how many spaces to move the token, a plurality of "fisherman's luck" cards showing what game related action a player should take, and a plurality of "bass" cards showing pictures of lures corresponding to those in the tackle box, each bass card having on it a representation of a fish and its weight, certain of said indicia directing the player to make a simulated cast by selecting one of said lure representations, the player keeping the card as his catch if the selected lure matches the lure on the "bass" card.

2. The game according to claim 1 in which the lake representation contains representations of stumps, lily pads, muddy shallows, buoys and a boat dock.

Description:
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The object of the game is to simulate a bass tournament, in which the player catching the most fish, for example 10 fish, is the winner or, in a modified form of the game, the player catching the highest weight of fish is the winner.

Another object of the game is to familiarize the players with the different types of lures used in bass fishing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 shows a board containing a representation of a lake with a continuous series of representations of a boat around its periphery and a center panel representing a tackle box containing lures;

FIG. 2 shows one of the identifying game tokens in the shape of an anchor, the tokens being in different colors;

FIG. 3 is a representation of a die;

FIg. 4 is a representation of several of the "fisherman's luck" cards; and

FIG. 5 is a representation of a plurality of "bass cards".

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

In FIG. 1 of the drawings, there is shown a game board 1 having a lake 2 drawn on it. Also drawn on the board are a plurality of stumps 3, lily pads 4, muddy shallows 5, buoys 6 and a boat dock 7. In the center of the board is a panel 8 representing a tackle box. Around the periphery of the lake is a continuous series 9 of representations of a boat.

An identifying token 10 in the shape of an anchor is showon in FIG. 2, the anchors being preferably made in different colors, and in FIG. 3 there is a representation of a conventional die 11.

A plurality of fisherman's luck cards 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D, 12E, 12F, 12G, 12H and 12I are shown in FIG. 4, there being preferably a total of 20 such cards, and, in FIG. 5, there are shown a plurality of bass cards 13A, 13B, 13C, 13D and 13E, there being preferably 56 of the bass cards.

There are preferably 43 representations of a boat, these being numbered and labeled as follows:

In the playing of the game, each player chooses an identifying token and the game is started at the dock. The die is rolled and the player having the highest number starts the game. He then rolls the die and moves his token the number of spaces shown on the die. Then he takes the action indicated by the representation of a boat on which his token lands. When a token lands on "cast," the player picks a lure from the tackle box by pointing to it and draws the top bass card. If the card he draws shows a lure on it corresponding to the one he has picked, he keeps the card as his catch, which means that he has caught that bass.

There are 56 bass cards, 4 cards for each lure in the tackle box, each card with the same lure having a different weight of bass shown on it. For example, the 4 cards with a black worm on them show weights of 4 pounds, 6 pounds, 9 pounds and 10 pounds respectively. The 4 cards with a purple worm on them show weights of 5 pounds, 7 pounds, 8 pounds and 10 pounds, respectively. Likewise, the cards having striped lures may show weights of 2 pounds, 4 pounds, 5 pounds and 6 pounds.

If a player's token lands on "2 cast," he can choose either the same lure twice or 2 separate lures, but he must identify each lure before taking a card.

If a player's token lands on "fisherman's luck," he draws the top fisherman's luck card and does what the card says. When a token lands on or passes the dock, the player gets a free cast; this means he again picks a lure by pointing to it and draws the top bass card.

When a token lands on "take free bass card", the player takes the top bass card and keeps it.

When a player's token lands on "go back 2 spaces", he takes the "2 cast" in the second space.

The player winning either the most fish or the most weight of fish wins the game. A time limit can be set for the game in either case. The game will familiarize a player with the different types of lures used in bass fishing.

It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes may be made in the invention, without departing from the spirit and scope thereof, and therefore the invention is not limited by that which is shown in the drawings and described in the specification, but only as indicated in the appended claims.
