Abstract:
A mattress envelope has water therein and an open tub portion formed therein for bathing part of a person on the mattress envelope. A back rest envelope having water therein extends from an area of the mattress envelope in the area of the tub portion thereof at an angle therewith. A pair of arm rest envelopes have water therein and extend from opposite sides of the mattress envelope substantially perpendicularly thereto and abut the back rest envelope.

Claims:
I claim

1. A therapeutic water mattress, comprising

2. A therapeutic water mattress as claimed in claim 1, further comprising an indented head rest portion formed in the area of the free end of the back rest envelope.

3. A therapeutic water mattress as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a plurality of suction cups affixed to the undersurface of the mattress envelope and the outside surfaces of the arm rest envelopes for removably affixing the water mattress to the inside of a bathtub.

Description:
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a therapeutic water mattress.

Objects of the invention are to provide a therapeutic water mattress of simple structure, which is inexpensive in manufacture, is assembled and disassembled and stored with facility and convenience, is adjustable to various desired positions, permits bathing part of a person thereon with facility and convenience, is removably affixable to the inside of a bathtub, and functions efficiently, effectively and reliably to provide therapeutic rest to a user.

In order that the invention may be readily carried into effect, it will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, wherein:

FIG. 1 is a top view of an embodiment of the therapeutic water mattress of the invention;

FIG. 2 is a side view of the embodiment of FIG. 1; and

FIG. 3 is a side view of the embodiment of FIG. 1 installed in a bathtub.

In the FIGS., the same components are identified by the same reference numerals.

The therapeutic water mattress of the invention comprises a mattress envelope 1 having water therein and an open tub portion 2 (FIGS. 1 and 2) formed therein for bathing part of a person on the mattress envelope.

A back rest envelope 3 having water therein extends from an end of the mattress envelope 1 in the area of the tub portion 2 thereof at an angle with the mattress envelope.

A pair of arm rest envelopes 4 and 5 having water therein extend from opposite sides of the mattress envelope 1 substantially perpendicularly thereto and abut the back rest envelope 3.

An indented head rest portion 6 (FIG. 1) is formed in the area of the free end of the back rest envelope 3.

A plurality of suction cups 7, 8, 9, 10, and so on (FIG. 3), are affixed to the undersurface of the mattress envelope 1 and the outside surfaces of the arm rest envelopes 4 and 5 for removably affixing the water mattress to the inside of a bathtub 11.

A plurality of valves 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 (FIG. 1) and 20 (FIG. 2) are provided for facilitating the feeding of water into the therapeutic water mattress of the invention and the removal of water therefrom.

While the invention has been described by means of a specific example and in a specific embodiment, I do not wish to be limited thereto, for obvious modifications will occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
