Description:
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a door lock device.

Objects of the invention are to provide a door lock device of simple structure, which is inexpensive in manufacture, installed with facility, convenience and rapidity by anyone with or without skill on any door mounted on hinges in a door frame, and functions efficiently, effectively and reliably to prevent the opening of the door by anyone other than a person locking it from the inside (or outside).

In order that the invention may be readily carried into effect, it will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, wherein:

FIG. 1 is an anxial view of the door plate of the door lock device of the invention;

FIG. 2 is a side view, taken along the lines II--II, of FIG. 1;

FIG. 3 is a view, taken along the lines III--III, of FIG. 2;

FIG. 4 is a plan view of the frame plate of the door lock device of the invention;

FIG. 5 is a side view, taken along the lines V--V, of FIG. 4;

FIG. 6 is a view of the door lock device of the invention mounted on a door;

FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view, taken along the lines VII--VII, of FIG. 6; and

FIG. 8 is a view, taken along the lines VIII--VIII, of FIG. 6, of the door lock device of the invention in secured position.

In the FIGS., the same components are identified by the same reference numerals.

The door lock device of the invention is for a door 1 (FIGS. 6 and 7) mounted on hinges 2, 3 and 4 (FIG. 6) in a door frame 5 (FIG. 7). The door 1 has a knob stem 6 extending therethrough and door knobs 7 and 8 (FIG. 7) mounted thereon. The door 1 is openable by rotation about its hinges in a direction, indicated by an arrow 9 (FIG. 7), from the door knob 8 to the door knob 7.

The door lock device of the invention comprises a door plate 10 (FIGS. 1 to 3 and 7) having a bore 11 formed therethrough (FIG. 1) for accommodating the knob stem 6. A lock member 12 (FIGS. 1 to 3, 7 and 8) extends from the door plate 10 substantially perpendicularly thereto and has a serrated edge 13 (FIGS. 2, 3 and 8) substantially perpendicular to the door plate 10. The door plate 10 is mounted on the door under the door knob 8 from which the door moves in opening (FIG. 7).

A frame plate 14 (FIGS. 4, 6, 7 and 8) is affixed to the door frame 5 (FIG. 7) in operative proximity with the door plate 10 and has a pin-type member 15 (FIG. 8) pivotally affixed thereto for releasably engaging the serrations in the serrated edge 13 of the lock member 12 of the wall plate 10 to lock the door and prevent it from being opened from the outside 16 (FIG. 7).

While the invention has been described by means of a specific example and in a specific embodiment, I do not wish to be limited thereto, for obvious modifications will occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
