Description:
The tempo of a theatrical production varies with certain passages, sights and sounds appealing more strongly to a given patron than other passages.
Heretofore, a patron wishing to forego certain portions of the production, had no option other than the unrealistic one of leaving his seat, disturbing those in adjacent seats and presumably more interested than he, going to the lobby, then reversing the process to see the remainder of the performance.
Our invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings wherein:
FIG. 1 is a partial sectional perspective view;
FIG. 2 is an exploded sectional view, and;
FIG. 3 is a top section taken on lines 3--3 of FIG. 1.
We provide a conventional paper bag of approximately 5 by 8 inches with an adhesively sealed flap 11. The bag may conveniently carry suitable printed material including advertisements.
A pair of folded spectacle blinders 12 is included in the paper bag. The blinders are constructed from a single sheet of cardboard formed into adjacent sections 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 23, separated by vertical folds 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22.
The center sections 17 and 19 are generally rectangular with rounded tops 24 and a small vee 25 at the common bottom. The center sections fit over the eyes and optionally also over a pair of normal spectacles.
Extending outwardly from the center sections are temple sections 15 and 21 of a length slightly less than the width of the center sections. Extending from the temple sections are earpieces 13 and 23.
The blinder spectacles are folded in the paper bag as illustrated at 30 in FIG. 3.
Also in the paper bag is a small cellophane bag 31 containing two absorbent cotton balls 32 and 33 adapted for use as ear plugs. Thirdly, the bag contains a candy stick 34.
The bag and its contents, as described, constitute a complete kit for the patron, allowing him to block out sights he may prefer not to see, ear plugs to block out sounds he may prefer not to hear, and candy, the injestion of which may ameliorate any temporary distress caused by the performance.
