GOLF CART HANDLE ATTACHMENT FOR GRIP, WRIST AND FOREARM EXERCISE

An exercising device made out of a single moulded piece of plastic for exercising the grip, wrist, the forearm of a golfer. One end of the device is a soft, squeezable knob. The other end is a tubular chamber moulded onto one surface of the knob and provided with a plastic rod positioned in the chamber and extending from the knob end of the chamber out beyond the opposite end of the chamber. The portion of the rod outside the chamber has a hole therethrough. By sliding the chamber over a hollow golf cart handle with the rod being positioned inside the handle and fixedly bolting the portion of the rod with the hole therethrough to the handle, one may obtain exercise by twisting the knob and chamber against the resistance to twisting of the rod and by squeezing the knob.

Claims:
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by letters patent is
1. An exercising device to develop the wrist, forearm and grip of a golfer comprising a one-piece moulded device of resilient plastic, said device having an elongated tubular hand grip with a soft, squeezable knob at one end thereof, a chamber with an opening on the opposite end of said tubular hand grip from said plastic knob, said chamber extending substantially to said knob, a plastic rod extending from the knob end of said chamber through said chamber to a point outside said opening of said chamber, said plastic rod having a transverse hole therein, said hole being positioned outside of said chamber, said exercising device being slidably attachable to a hollow golf cart handle to provide exercise when said device is grasped in the hand and rotated right or left and the knob end squeezed with the hand.

An exercising device to develop the wrist, forearm and grip of a golfer comprising a one-piece moulded device of resilient plastic, said device having an elongated tubular hand grip with a soft, squeezable knob at one end thereof, a chamber with an opening on the opposite end of said tubular hand grip from said plastic knob, said chamber extending substantially to said knob, a plastic rod extending from the knob end of said chamber through said chamber to a point outside said opening of said chamber, said plastic rod having a transverse hole therein, said hole being positioned outside of said chamber, said exercising device being slidably attachable to a hollow golf cart handle to provide exercise when said device is grasped in the hand and rotated right or left and the knob end squeezed with the hand.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention, a Golfer's Grip, Wrist and Forearm Exerciser, relates to a moulded plastic device that aids in the strengthening of a golfer's grip and wrist when properly manipulated by the golfer.
This device attaches directly to the handle of the golf cart and thus becomes readily available to the golfer as he proceeds around the course.
Many golfers use hand grippers and tennis balls at home to accomplish this result, but they neglect to use them there. The distinct advantage of this invention is that it is available when and where it is needed and since it is close at hand, the golfer will use it to his advantage.
This device is particularly useful to the golfer to warm up with before he starts the round. During the course of the round, the golfer encounters many delays. With this device, he has something useful and beneficial to do with the waiting time.
The object of this invention is to strengthen the golfer's wrists, grip and forearm and thus improve his game of golf.
One of the primary objects of the invention is to provide an exerciser device of this character which is simple in construction yet effective in operation, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture. To this end, the device is composed of one moulded plastic piece and an attaching nut and bolt.
This device is preferably moulded in one piece by the blow method using a 90 durometer vinyl plastic or its equivalent. This material is low in cost, lightweight and it has the properties of great durability.
This device serves several purposes. First, a hand grip cover for a golf cart handle, second, a grip exerciser by squeezing the knob end and third, a wrist and forearm exerciser by twisting the device against the tension of a plastic rod which is fixed to the inside of the hollow golf cart handle with a nut and bolt.
This very novel invention is very easily installed on the golf cart handle by merely sliding the cover over the golf cart handle and then drilling one hole through the handle of the golf cart at the point on the handle where the hole in the plastic rod matches and sliding the bolt through the golf cart handle and through the hole in the plastic rod and then attaching the nut to the bolt. The operator can then twist the cover in either hand and in either direction against the tension of the plastic rod which is attached inside the hollow golf cart handle. The plastic rod, is thus resisting the twisting motion and the more the cover is twisted by the operator, the harder it is to twist as the tension of the plastic rod increases.
With the above objects in view, a more complete understanding of this invention of the exercising device will be had by reference to the drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Having reference now to the drawings in detail, there is generally indicated by the character 1 in FIG. 2 the hole in the plastic rod through which a bolt is attached through the golf cart handle and the plastic rod and which fixes the rod to the golf cart handle to resist the twisting motion of the operator.
Reference numeral 2 represents the outer cover of the hand grip area of the device. Reference numeral 3 indicates the solid plastic core at the ball end of the device. Reference numeral 4 represents the ball end of the device that is squeezed by the operator to increase the strength in his hands. FIG. 1 represents the overall view showing the one piece moulded plastic device.
