Claims:
Having thus described this invention, what is claimed as new is
1. A guitar pick comprising an elongated artificial nail adapted to conform to and fit over a natural nail and clip means disposed on the underside of the artificial nail to detachably hold same to the natural nail.
2. A pick as set forth in claim 1 wherein said means engages the exposed edge of the natural nail.
3. A pick as set forth in claim 2 further included a hollow truncated cone-like thimble open at both ends and adapted to slip over both nails onto the finger to detachably hold everything in position.
4. A pick as set forth in claim 3 wherein said thimble is wound into a spiral.

4. A pick as set forth in claim 3 wherein said thimble is wound into a spiral.
Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The finest guitar pick available is the human nail. However, when such a nail is permitted to grow to sufficient length, it may break readily and is often curved sufficiently to catch on the strings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
My invention, which I call a "pick-nail," utilizes an artificial nail for use as a pick secured by a nail chuck to the natural nail, both artificial nail and chuck being held in position for use by a spiral thimble.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring now to FIGS. 1--6, an elongated artificial nail 10 having a complex curvature whereby the artificial nail can fit tightly and conformingly over a natural nail 12 is also provided with an inner clip or chuck 14 which detachably engages the exposed edge of the nail 12. A hollow spirally wound elastic thimble like structure 16 open at both ends and defining a truncated cone with slight taper slides over the two nails to hold same in place. Thereafter, a few drops of cement can be applied between the thimble and the pick-nail, thus making a unit of the two. The cementing operation can be carried out at the time of purchase. The guitarist can use one or more of my picks, typically using one on the thumb and additional ones on the first three fingers.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
