MULTIPEN AND REFILL HOLDER

A multipen and selectable refill holder providing support for several refillable pens with different colored inks comprising a closed housing, three pen stands mounted on the housing, end members and a transparent bottom for the housing, an aperture in one end member of a size permitting passage of a pen refill, and a restrictive member in the housing defining a central compartment formed for receiving refills and for dispensing selected refills.

Claims:
What I claim is
1. A pen and refill cartridge holder comprising a housing, means for supporting at least one pen on said housing, means for storing refill cartridges in said housing, means for selectively dispensing stored refill cartridges from said housing, and a transparent bottom to said housing permitting timely viewing of stored refill cartridges.
2. The holder of claim 1 and including an aperture in an end wall of said housing of a size to permit passage of a refill cartridge therethrough, and means for positioning a selected refill cartridge for dispensing through said aperture.
3. The holder of claim 1 and including a restrictive member in said housing defining a storage compartment for refill cartridges.
4. The holder of claim 3 in which said restrictive member includes a portion at an acute angle with the housing bottom adapted to receive and position a refill cartridge, and an aperture in an end wall of the housing located for receiving and dispensing a refill cartridge so positioned.
5. The holder of claim 2 in which said positioning means comprises two walls defining an acute angle to receive therein a selected refill cartridge in position aligned with said aperture.
6. A pen and refill cartridge holder comprising a housing, means for supporting at least one pen on said housing, means for storing refill cartridges in said housing, means for selectively dispensing stored refill cartridges from said housing, said pen supporting means including several pen stands on said housing.

A pen and refill cartridge holder comprising a housing, means for supporting at least one pen on said housing, means for storing refill cartridges in said housing, means for selectively dispensing stored refill cartridges from said housing, and a transparent bottom to said housing permitting timely viewing of stored refill cartridges.
2. The holder of claim 1 and including an aperture in an end wall of said housing of a size to permit passage of a refill cartridge therethrough, and means for positioning a selected refill cartridge for dispensing through said aperture.
3. The holder of claim 1 and including a restrictive member in said housing defining a storage compartment for refill cartridges.
4. The holder of claim 3 in which said restrictive member includes a portion at an acute angle with the housing bottom adapted to receive and position a refill cartridge, and an aperture in an end wall of the housing located for receiving and dispensing a refill cartridge so positioned.
5. The holder of claim 2 in which said positioning means comprises two walls defining an acute angle to receive therein a selected refill cartridge in position aligned with said aperture.
6. A pen and refill cartridge holder comprising a housing, means for supporting at least one pen on said housing, means for storing refill cartridges in said housing, means for selectively dispensing stored refill cartridges from said housing, said pen supporting means including several pen stands on said housing.
Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to the refillable pen art and more particularly to a novel multipen and selectable refill holder.
2. Description Of The Prior Art
There are many pen holders in the art, but the applicant is familiar with none providing for support of several pens and for storage and dispensing of selected refills. The present structure satisfies a long existing need.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In brief, the present novel holder comprises a housing with several pen stands mounted on top. The housing also includes a transparent bottom and end members, one of the latter including an aperture of a size to pass a required refill. Within the housing is a restrictive member defining a compartment including the aperture and providing a biasing means to position a selected refill for dispensing.
Hence, objects of the present invention are to provide a novel multipen and refill holder which satisfies the above stated long existing need in the art, which incorporate novel refill selection and dispensing means, which presents a neat appearance, which camouflages the refill storage, which provides ready selection and dispensing of a desired refill, which is constructed for long satisfactory use, and which otherwise fulfills the objects and advantages sought.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to the drawing more particularly by reference numerals, 10 indicates generally a multipen and refill holder constructed to include the principles of the present invention. The holder 10 comprises a housing 12 including a top 14, end members 15 and 16, a front panel 18, a rear panel 20, a transparent bottom 22, and supporting buttons 24.
Secured to the top 14 are three pen stands 26, which may be greater or lesser in number. A pen 28 in broken lines is shown disposed in one pen stand 26 in FIG. 2. A pen sump 30 in the top 14 is located forwardly of the pen holders 26.
Within the housing 12 is a restrictor plate 32 of the cross section illustrated in FIG. 4 which has a central compartment 34 that receives cartridges or refills 36 for storage. An aperture 38 in the end member 16 having a ferrule 40 inserted therein is located, as shown in FIG. 4, in one acute angle defined by one portion of the restrictor plate 32 and the bottom 22, which facilitates location of a selected refill 36 in position for dispensing.
It is to be understood that pens 28 having replaceable cartridges 36 with different colored inks (black, red and blue being illustrated), are placed in the stands 26. Desired refills 36 are placed in the storage compartment 34 through the aperture 38. When a refill 36 is needed, pens 28 are removed from the stands 26. The housing 12 is turned over, a desired refill 36 is maneuvered into the acute angle opposite the aperture 38 by a little shaking of the housing 12, and such selected refill 36 is removed through the aperture 38 by suitable tilting and jostling the housing 12.
It is apparent from the foregoing description taken with the drawings that there has been provided a novel holder construction which fulfills the objects and advantages sought.
It is to be understood that the foregoing description and the accompanying drawing have been given by way of illustration and example. It is also to be understood that changes in form of the elements, arrangement of parts, and substitution of equivalent elements, which will be obvious to those skilled in the art, are contemplated as within the scope of the present invention which is limited only by the claims which follow.

Hence, objects of the present invention are to provide a novel multipen and refill holder which satisfies the above stated long existing need in the art, which incorporate novel refill selection and dispensing means, which presents a neat appearance, which camouflages the refill storage, which provides ready selection and dispensing of a desired refill, which is constructed for long satisfactory use, and which otherwise fulfills the objects and advantages sought.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to the drawing more particularly by reference numerals, 10 indicates generally a multipen and refill holder constructed to include the principles of the present invention. The holder 10 comprises a housing 12 including a top 14, end members 15 and 16, a front panel 18, a rear panel 20, a transparent bottom 22, and supporting buttons 24.
Secured to the top 14 are three pen stands 26, which may be greater or lesser in number. A pen 28 in broken lines is shown disposed in one pen stand 26 in FIG. 2. A pen sump 30 in the top 14 is located forwardly of the pen holders 26.
Within the housing 12 is a restrictor plate 32 of the cross section illustrated in FIG. 4 which has a central compartment 34 that receives cartridges or refills 36 for storage. An aperture 38 in the end member 16 having a ferrule 40 inserted therein is located, as shown in FIG. 4, in one acute angle defined by one portion of the restrictor plate 32 and the bottom 22, which facilitates location of a selected refill 36 in position for dispensing.
It is to be understood that pens 28 having replaceable cartridges 36 with different colored inks (black, red and blue being illustrated), are placed in the stands 26. Desired refills 36 are placed in the storage compartment 34 through the aperture 38. When a refill 36 is needed, pens 28 are removed from the stands 26. The housing 12 is turned over, a desired refill 36 is maneuvered into the acute angle opposite the aperture 38 by a little shaking of the housing 12, and such selected refill 36 is removed through the aperture 38 by suitable tilting and jostling the housing 12.
