Claims:
1. A slip for use as an item of feminine underclothing: said slip having a top brassiere portion; said brassiere portion comprising an inner portion and a front portion; pocket means formed in the space between said inner portion and said front portion; slot means in the said front portion for providing access to said space; and sealing means for sealing said slot means.
2. The slip of claim 1 wherein said brassiere portion is contoured to assume the shape and function of a brassiere, and wherein said sealing means comprises hookless fastener means arranged at said slot means.
3. The slip of claim 2 wherein said pocket means comprises a pair of pockets; said brassiere portion having a right and left cup portion with one pocket associated with each cup portion.
2. The slip of claim 1 wherein said brassiere portion is contoured to assume the shape and function of a brassiere, and wherein said sealing means comprises hookless fastener means arranged at said slot means.
3. The slip of claim 2 wherein said pocket means comprises a pair of pockets; said brassiere portion having a right and left cup portion with one pocket associated with each cup portion.
Description:
My invention relates to a piece of feminine wearing apparel commonly referred to as a slip.
The prime object of my invention is to provide slips having a top portion designed to a contour to cover conventional brassieres, which top portions are equipped with sealable pockets.
Another object of my invention is to provide devices of the character described, that are provided with a pair of pockets, sealable by hookless fasteners, or the like, for the convenience of the user of the assembled slips which may be worn with or without a brassiere.
Still another object of my invention is to provide means for conveying and concealing valuables, which means form an integral portion of the slip.
A further object is to construct the sealing means in a manner so it will not be conspicuous while being worn.
The conventional slip worn by the majority of women is designed so it may be worn over a conventional brassiere, or so that it may be worn as a brassiere slip designed to assume the same shape and contour as a brassiere and perform the functions of a brassiere. The prime object of my invention is to provide pockets with sealing means in the breast portion of the slip, similar to the pockets and sealing means covered by my existing U.S. Pat. No. 3,398,749 and Pat. application Ser. No. 703,922 filed Feb. 8, 1968, and for providing more accessible pockets for conveying the valuables.
Other and further objects of my invention will become more apparent as the description proceeds when taken in conjunction with the drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the slip, as applied to the wearer, shown in phantom;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the entire slip equipped with breast-type pockets constituting my invention;
FIG. 3 is a fragmentary perspective view of a portion of the slip with the pockets forming a part thereof; and
FIG. 4 is a fragmentary cross-sectional view of a portion of the slip showing the pocket in an open position.
Similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts and features throughout the several views, and referring now to the same, the character 10 shows a conventional slip, which obviously may be constructed of any type of material and design.
The top portion 11 of the slip is made to fit the form, shape and contour of the brassiere (not shown) worn by the wearer, shown in phantom as 12. The entire slip is supported by a plurality of straps, or bands 13, or in any other efficient and convenient manner.
The top portion 11 is constructed to provide two pockets 14 formed by the space between an inner portion 15 (see FIG. 4) and the front portion 16. The pocket is slotted at 17 and provided with a hookless fastener 18 or by clasps, or the like (not shown).
The slots 17 extend across the front of the two front portions 16 of the upper portion 11 of the slip. As shown in FIG. 3, if the hookless fastener 18 is moved, it will provide openings 19 to give access to the pocket 14.
Obviously the hookless fastener 18 is disposed near the upper surface of the portions 16 to form a pocket 15, extending downward.
From the above description it will become manifest that the pockets disposed within the upper portion of the slip, provide a feature not heretofore portrayed in the prior patent art, and although I have shown a specific arrangement of the parts and features constituting my device, I am fully cognizant of the fact that many changes may be made in the parts and features, without effecting the performance of the device, and I reserve the rights to make such changes as I may deem convenient and necessary without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the appended claims.
The prime object of my invention is to provide slips having a top portion designed to a contour to cover conventional brassieres, which top portions are equipped with sealable pockets.
Another object of my invention is to provide devices of the character described, that are provided with a pair of pockets, sealable by hookless fasteners, or the like, for the convenience of the user of the assembled slips which may be worn with or without a brassiere.
Still another object of my invention is to provide means for conveying and concealing valuables, which means form an integral portion of the slip.
A further object is to construct the sealing means in a manner so it will not be conspicuous while being worn.
The conventional slip worn by the majority of women is designed so it may be worn over a conventional brassiere, or so that it may be worn as a brassiere slip designed to assume the same shape and contour as a brassiere and perform the functions of a brassiere.
