Claims:
What is claimed is:
1. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising effective amounts of: epigallocatechin gallate; caffeine; and l-tyrosine.
2. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 1.2 mg to about 1200 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of caffeine; and about 10 to about 3000 mg amount of l-tyrosine.
3. The composition of claim 2 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
4. The composition of claim 2 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
5. The composition of claim 2 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
6. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 60 mg to about 450 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 75 mg to about 600 mg of caffeine; and about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of l-tyrosine.
7. The composition of claim 6 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
8. The composition of claim 6 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
9. The composition of claim 6 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
10. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 100 mg to about 300 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 150 mg to about 500 mg of caffeine; and about 500 mg to about 1000 mg of l-tyrosine.
11. The composition of claim 10 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
12. The composition of claim 10 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
13. The composition of claim 10 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
14. The composition of claim 1, further comprising an effective amount of acetyl-l-tyrosine.
15. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 1.2 mg to about 1200 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of caffeine; about 10 mg to about 3000 mg of l-tyrosine; and about 10 mg to about 2000 mg of n-acetyl-tyrosine.
16. The composition of claim 15 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
17. The composition of claim 15 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
18. The composition of claim 15 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
19. The composition of claim 15 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
20. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 60 mg to about 450 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 75 mg to about 600 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of l-tyrosine; and about 20 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
21. The composition of claim 20 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
22. The composition of claim 20 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
23. The composition of claim 20 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
24. The composition of claim 20 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
25. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 100 mg to about 300 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 150 mg to about 500 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1000 mg of l-tyrosine; and about 40 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
26. The composition of claim 25 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
27. The composition of claim 25 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
28. The composition of claim 25 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
29. The composition of claim 25 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
30. The composition of claim 14, further comprising an effective amount of theophylline.
31. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 1.2 mg to about 1200 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of caffeine; about 10 mg to about 3000 mg of l-tyrosine; about 10 mg to about 2000 mg of n-acetyl-tyrosine; and about 3 mg to about 750 mg of theophylline.
32. The composition of claim 31 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
33. The composition of claim 31 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
34. The composition of claim 31 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
35. The composition of claim 31 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
36. The composition of claim 31 wherein the theophylline is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring theophylline or a derivative or metabolite thereof, tea, guarana and synthetic theophylline.
37. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 60 mg to about 450 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 75 mg to about 600 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of l-tyrosine; about 20 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine; and about 75 mg to about 225 mg of theophylline.
38. The composition of claim 37 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
39. The composition of claim 37 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
40. The composition of claim 37 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
41. The composition of claim 37 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
42. The composition of claim 37 wherein the theophylline is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring theophylline or a derivative or metabolite thereof, tea, guarana and synthetic theophylline.
43. A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 100 mg to about 300 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 150 mg to about 500 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1000 mg of l-tyrosine; about 40 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine; and about 100 mg to about 200 mg of theophylline.
44. The composition of claim 43 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.

The composition of claim 43 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
46. The composition of claim 43 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
47. The composition of claim 43 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.
48. The composition of claim 43 wherein the theophylline is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring theophylline or a derivative or metabolite thereof, tea, guarana and synthetic theophylline.
49. The composition of claim 30, further comprising an effective amount of theobromine.

A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 1.2 mg to about 1200 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of caffeine; about 10 mg to about 3000 mg of l-tyrosine; about 10 mg to about 2000 mg of n-acetyl-tyrosine; about 3 mg to about 750 mg of theophylline; and about 3 mg to about 900 mg of theobromine.
51. The composition of claim 50 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.

The composition of claim 50 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.
53. The composition of claim 50 wherein the l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic l-tyrosine.
54. The composition of claim 50 wherein the n-acetyl-l-tyrosine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of naturally occurring n-acetyl-l-tyrosine or a derivative or metabolite thereof and synthetic n-acetyl-l-tyrosine.

A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 60 mg to about 450 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 75 mg to about 600 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of l-tyrosine; about 20 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine; about 75 mg to about 225 mg of theophylline; and about 60 mg to about 450 mg of theobromine.
58. The composition of claim 57 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.

The composition of claim 57 wherein the caffeine is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, yerba mate, naturally occurring caffeine or a derivative or metabolite thereof, xanthine, theine, guaranine, cocoa, coffee, cola nut, guarana, mate, tea and synthetic caffeine.

A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 100 mg to about 300 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 150 mg to about 500 mg of caffeine; about 500 mg to about 1000 mg of l-tyrosine; about 40 mg to about 1000 mg of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine; about 100 mg to about 200 mg of theophylline; and about 100 mg to about 200 mg of theobromine.
65. The composition of claim 64 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.

A composition for promoting weight loss in mammals, comprising: about 1.2 mg to about 1200 mg of epigallocatechin gallate; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of caffeine; about 10 mg to about 3000 mg of l-tyrosine; about 10 mg to about 2000 mg of n-acetyl-tyrosine; about 3 mg to about 750 mg of theophylline; about 3 mg to about 900 mg of theobromine; about 50 mg to about 1500 mg of dl-methionine; and about 15 mg to about 4500 mg of gingerols.
98. The composition of claim 97 wherein the epigallocathechin gallate is selected from one or more of the group consisting of green tea extract, oolong tea extract, naturally occurring epigallocathechin gallate or a derivative or metabolite thereof, and synthetic epigallocatechin gallate.
